Outstanding CL

We first visited this site almost three years ago and have been back many time since. With two young teenage children there is plenty for them to do ranging from nature walks around the huge site to a zip wire, playing area and even a small shed full of curios available for a donation to the local first responders.  Well placed for a wealth of local attractions and some excellent walking and Geocaching opportunities.  Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing site that is easily accessible and, with the individual hedged pitches, affords great privacy. Particular mention should be made of the constant work to keep the grass and hedges worthy of a Royal estate! The sites best assets however are the family who run it.  They simply could not be more friendly, helpful or welcoming and make the site a definate must for a weekend away.  We look forward to the many visits ahead.

Very welcoming CL

We stayed at Sunflower House 3 times during the summer and have enjoyed every stay. The very welcoming owners come over as soon as you arrive and offer tea or coffee but after the first visit they remembered it was 2 teas, no sugar! You are sited looking at a field of sunflowers, on a hedged plot, which is lovely, and a dog walk is mown around the site which is also a nature trail where you can carefully look under corrugated iron to find any signs of life. To date we have seen a grass snake, slow worm, mice and ants nests!! Highly recommend this CL for sightseeing (Southwold, Snape Maltings, Aldburgh and much more. Also plenty of places nearby to eat, the nearest pub a couple of minutes walking distance. Love the shed with books and bric-a-brac to buy for charity too. We would love to come back next year......

Wonderful Suffolk Countryside

We have stayed on this site quite a few times now and the owners are welcoming and exceptionally friendly.  The sunflowers were out when we stayed in August and also there was a small field of corn/wheat, which was cut to provide seed for the beautifully coloured chickens.  Fortunately the cockerel was not an early riser.  The site is close to quite a few places to visit, RSPB Minsmere, Aldburgh, Dunwich and Southwold.  We love this area and look forward to our next visit.

Space and conveniently placed in Suffolk

Booked this site with ease and at last minute, very easy to find, was greeted with an offer of a coffee or tea! Bayed pitches, nicely looked after, easy access to electric, water near by, waste nice and close. Great pub down the road, great Sunday roast little bits costly though but serves not just Adnams beer! Another pub in Yoxford along with two posh-ish restaurants. One restaurant Mains has a Saturday bakery. Easy links to Aldeburgh and Southwold, Waitrose in Saxmundham. Large area for kids along with great nature area and sunflowers, lots of them. Highly recommend site, bit of A12 noise, but didn't disturb us with 3 children, one only 6 months. Will book again when next in Suffolk.....

Convenient CL

A basic CL with fairly level large grass only pitches, separated by hedges, overlooking a large field. Access is easy, straight off the A12 at the south end of the village, and although close to the road the noise level was not disturbing. There are a couple of traffic free dog walks directly from the site and across the main road. Yoxford has a couple of pubs and a restaurant as well as a few small shops. There is easy access to Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Southwold and RSPB reserve at Minsmere. As others have mentioned the site is spoilted by the amount of rubbish/scrap lying around behind a hedge at the back of the pitches. Regardless of this we would use this site again should we visit this area in the future.

A Lovely Space

Stayed here for a week in August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so many places to visit within very easy reach. The space was already marked out for us with our name and we were brought a cuppa after our journey which was a nice touch. The space we had was large and very private bordered by high hedging. I would though echo the fact that there is a lot of scrap lying around the perimeter of the site which spoils the look of the place and the noise from the A12 did wake me the first night but after then I didn't appear to notice.

Fabulous site

What a lovely site. We were greeted with coffee and a brilliant Boucher full of helpful places and places to visit.Very well thought out. The individual pitches were private and the views of the sunflowers made it a very pretty outlook. There was a very good walk around the site through some wooded parts and all the walkways were mowed which made it very easy walking. Down the road was a pub and a village with all the amenities you require . Plenty of places to visit one which we enjoyed was the Stoneham Barns. Will definitely visit this site again, one of the nicest we have come across and maybe we should keep this to ourselves !!

Sunflower House CL - excellent

Just spent 5 nights at the site and will no doubt return. Lovely welcome - offered a cup of tea on arrival and showed around the CL by owner (water/waste/recycling facilities) and given very useful information booklet. Each pitch is spacious and surrounded by high hedges, and has own electric and tv booster point (brilliant as the digital system kept breaking up on us in Norfolk). Eight acres of land to wander around in and watch the wildlife - especially under the corrugated iron sheets laid out for the grass snakes, slow worms, voles and mice - all of which I saw - amazing. Easy access to the beautiful Suffolk coast - Dunwich, Southwold, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness etc. Easy walk to local pub which does good food and beer. Thoroughly recommend but the owners could do with tidying up the 'scrap alley' behind the pitches - home to old engines and gearboxes etc.

great cl

Just back after great few days. Warm welcome, info pack thoughtful and helpful. Hedged bays lovely for individual feel. Would love to return when sunflowers are in bloom. Delight to walk around own acres and beyond...even has own charity shop. Watched barn owl perch on tree 10 paces from caravan...superb. All the above well placed to coastal and inland visits. No hesitation to recommend. Enjoy.

A little gem.

Our first visit - June 2013. Very well located with access to so many places of interest as well as a wonderful coastline. A great welcome on arrival, with information pack provided. Good-sized, flat, private grass pitches on the edge of 8 acres of agricultural/woodland, with walks mown in the grass throughout. A haven for dogs! Unrestricted access, too. The A12 is nearby (30 mph limit through village) and there is some road noise at busy times, but this is not intrusive. No hesitation in recommending this lovely site.
