Quiet Site, great location

We were given a warm welcome to the site by Karl with suggestions of local bike rides and places to eat. The site was level with grass over plastic grids. Even after 3 days of very heavy rain we had no problems with getting our 3.7T van off the site when it was time to go home. There was also a substantial hedge to protect us from the prevailing wind. Because of this I would recommend it as a site year round. Each pitch had it's own water supply and there were good recycling facilities. The site had an information board with a map of the local area. There were some lovely bike rides and walks from the site to nearby nature reserves. It is possible to do an almost flat bike ride into Glastonbury which is a nice town to visit and, for those feeling energetic, a walk up the Tor provides great views. The food at The Duck, about 1.5 miles down a quiet lane, is very nice with generous portions. The bacon sandwiches at the Avalon Marshes Visitor Center are also nice. Be sure to check opening times for the historic buildings as they aren't open all the time. For a quiet break surrounded by nature I couldn't recommend this site highly enough.
