Ease of arrival/welcome

OK, BUT...

The CL is a small largely flat field, in open countryside, adjacent to the farm, and a short walk from their farm shop/café. There are 5 fairly closely positioned pitches on newly laid stone gravel, and further more spacious grassy pitches beyond. There is a generally well kept feel to the place. Access is via a wide steel gate and there is a placard instructing you to park-up, then visit the café to pay. Overall a reasonable CL. Pity then that the ‘welcome’ aspect of the experience fell a little short of what we expected. We arrived at the site in the late afternoon, having booked a pitch by phone earlier in the day, for an agreed price of £14.50 (for a motorhome without an awning), which matched that advertised on the CAMC website. Unfortunately, we were informed by the lady in the café that prices had gone up, and the fee was to be £15.50. Despite our polite remonstration it was clear she was not of a mind to yield and, although only £1 was at stake, there was a point of principle. However, apart from this regrettable lack of understanding about customer relations, which marred the experience a little, this wasn’t a bad CL.
