Arriving from the A6 Matlock is somewhat of a struggle , and the directions on the site website are wrong!! and need updating. The site itself is well maintained, and being fully serviced is great. The views are fantastic , we never tired from sitting and enjoying them. We had a bit of a job finding the Waterfalls mentioned on the website but they were worth the walk and up hill return struggle, if you are not fully fit don't attempt the walk. We found that walking in the Forrest on nice even paths very enjoyable. The visit to the local town Matlock, was also enjoyable. There was quite a bit of traffic, Farm vehicles and cars toand from the farm along the drive which pass close to our pitch. Overall I would recommend the site , but if you find walking up steep hills difficult, this may not be for you.

Hello,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our site and your lovely comments about pitches and location!

I’m sorry the farm traffic was particularly busy during your stay...it does vary as the weather allows and if the sunshines we have to make the most of it especially after the particularly wet spell ...but we are advertised as a working farm..so there are no surprises for our visitors and many come just to enjoy watching the various machinery to-ing and fro-Ing . We were particularly busy during your stay..but that’s farming I’m afraid!

‘I’ve double checked the directions on the website and they are correct in bringing you in directly from the A6 avoiding the steep hill and narrow lanes? There is no other caravan friendly route and it is one we take with our own caravan when we are towing. Not sure which way you came in? The caravan club directions only let us direct you in from the nearest main road which is the main Darley Road...so maybe this is where the confusion lies? Our website actually gives directions from all main approaches.

Agree with the advice you have to be fit to tackle the hills ...we do say that ourselves in our literature! So glad you enjoyed the forest walks though and appreciate the hills aren’t for everyone!

Thank you again for your feedback and for visiting us at Tax Farm !
