Immaculate

Really nice place to stay on the way to Devon. We had decided to extend our stay rather than just stay for a couple of nights. Easy access from the motorway. The lane to the site is very quiet. Good security. The site is well maintained, with grass kept short and no grass cuttings. We were in the shade of a wood which was ideal with the heat of the summer but we could have had a pitch with full sun if we wished. There is plenty of space on each of the pitches and the hardstanding is big enough for both the caravan and car to park and there were picnic tables as well. We saw kingfishers and other birds and it was lovely to walk from the site with the dog on a quiet green lane. We enjoyed seeing the trains trundling along and also saw the Northern Belle, complete with luxury dining car. Special thanks to Dale who came over with some delicious ice cream when it got very hot.

Ideal

This is a very good CL. Ideally located for the M5. We used it for a one night stay on the way to Cornwall. The site is spacious, and very well kept and has 16 amp ehu. It was safe and secure with locked gated access. We enjoyed a good leg stretch and walk and found a nice pub in the village of Coaley for a meal. Ideal.

Great Find if you are a Rugby Fan

Stayed at this site overnight early September. Both Mandy and Martin were helpful and the booking in process was easy. This was a fantastic place to stay for us as we were visiting Kingsholm for a rugby match. It is literally a five minute walk to the rail station at Cam/Dursley and from here a very quick 10 minute rail trip to Gloucester. It is a peaceful place but as stated it is a short dap to the nearest station and trains do pass by the site. Personally this was not a problem as the location is great. Will stay again and do recommend.

Too much noise for us

Stayed for the weekend - immaculate grass, with very large flat hard standings. We had, as always studied the description of the site which seemed ideal. Unfortunately the stream was so over grown we couldn't see any water - perhaps winter or spring would of been better, even the birds had gone into hiding. The description also states there is a railway station 5 mins walk away, but no mention that the line runs approx 100 yards from site - two trains - every half hour, from 6 am ish - 11 pm ish - so close we could actually see the passengers, plus goods trains. So not peaceful at all. Out of all the sites we have been to in the past 30+ years it's the 1st time we have ever said "we will not be back"

Very tidy

Easy to find and only a few miles from M5 junction. Site is spacious, level and really well kept with stream running through. Pleasent enough but no particular views. Owners friendly and helpful.

possibly the cleanest site we have visited! very enjoyable weekend, train station 5 min walk ,with trains going to Gloucester/Bristol or Bath. The small village is handy for fuel or small supplies. There are a few pubs within walking distance 20mins.The birds wake you in the morning, even though the train station is near its not a problem for us it was a positive!Everything on site is well set out and labelled,water/waste recycling etc. We shall return!

Perfect retreat

Just two nights here but would have loved to have stayed longer. Such a lovely, warm and friendly welcome from Martin and Mandy. Very peaceful and safe site. Lots of birdsong and we also enjoyed watching the trains on the nearby railroad. A great location for visiting the local areas, and beautiful walks directly from the site, perfect for for walking too. We are new to the Campervan life so we were very grateful for Martin giving us loads of advice and tips. There is a fantastic camping and caravan shop a short drive away, enjoyed browsing there and bought a few things but could have spent a fortune. This is a very well looked after very level, secure site. It's rural but with full amenities nearby. Thanks Martin and Mandy for a wonderful stay.

Lovely rural CL

Just back from a motorhome tour of the South West and had to write a review of this lovely Adult only CL Site – The Beeches near Dursley, Gloucestershire. What a lovely CL which is well looked after by the friendly owners Martin and Amanda. A great rural location not far from the M5 and within easy reach of Gloucester, Bristol and further afield. Very friendly welcome when we arrived and shown all the facilities. Spacious pitches with electric hook up. Bus stop and train station within easy walking distance. We will definitely be booking in again when next in the area. A real 5* site and can’t wait to revisit.

A great stay

We have just returned from 4 nights away in our campervan. We were warmly welcomed and well looked after by the owners, Martin and Amanda Fatek, - and they continued to check on us during our stay. This is a well maintained and secure CL - the gates are locked to prevent any issues. It is within 5 minutes alk to Cam & Dursley railway station, enabling you to catch a train to We used the Gloucester and Bristol. We tried to visit Berkeley Castle but it was fully booked sk we visited the WWT Wetland Centre at Slimbridge. Had a lively day out with friends and ended with a meal at The Old Fox Coaley as recommended by the owners. Highly recommended CL. Plenty to do.

Great stay at a very well maintained CL

We have just had 5 nights at this great CL. The owners Martin and Amanda were so welcoming, friendly, informative in fact nothing was too much trouble. Lots of interesting places to visit. Totally agree with all other reviews, it is a gem of a site. Will certainly stay here again, just hope we can get in. Thank you for a lovely stay
