Stunning views

We used this site as a stop-over between Kent and North Wales but now wish we’d booked in for a longer stay. The site is beautiful, with amazing views, and very peaceful with only a little distant road noise. The owners are friendly but unobtrusive. The pitches are on very slightly sloping grass, with one hardstanding pitch at the far end. All pitches have equally good views. There were three well spaced out campers when we were there so it felt very spacious, although if all pitches were full you would be quite close to your neighbours. There is no shower here but there is a nice clean loo. Within a 10 minute walk there is a pub with an amazing restaurant - not the cheapest but worth every penny in our opinion. There seemed to be plenty to do in the area (reservoir/riverside walks, National Trust properties, 2 arboreta). Sadly we had no time to explore but we did stop off at Ironbridge ( a 35 minute drive from the site) as we continued our journey. We would definitely return as this lovely site as it is a destination in its own right rather than just a stopover.

Beautiful view

We stayed for 3 nights, making a little break of it while attending a friend's wedding reception not far away. We were welcomed by Andrea and her two friendly dogs. The site is in a great position, high up, overlooking a lovely view. It is spacious and mostly quiet, though nearby roads do seem to attract quite a few boy racers with loud exhausts at certain times. The weather was supposed to be pretty good but a wet unsettled summer continued to be just that. We had gusty winds and a lot of rain. The slight slope of the site became a lot more noticeable when we needed to get our camper van out to go to the wedding. The ground was so soft we had a muddy patch inside the awning, coming up through the carpet so you can imagine, our wheels left a bit of an impression getting out. Sorry Andrea! We had our ramps on top of traction mats, fortunately. The loo was nice and clean. Didn't try the pub, too wet to walk down there! But I'd recommend walking down though the woods on the North Worcester way, to find the path along the Severn.

The Bumbles

We have just has a 2 night stay on this beautiful and peaceful CL, a return visit after first visiting last year. It has a large lawn in front of the caravans, which all point in a row towards beautiful views. The pitches are relatively flat for the first 3 then you may need a block to help you level at the 2 end pitches, not difficult though. It has a well looked after toilet, Grey waste and disposal and EHU. It is good travel distances to iron bridge gorge, the museums and also the cave houses to name a few. We hoped to go to dominiques, which is just down the road, for a meal but sadly this is closed on a Monday and Tuesday, the royal oak which is left at the main road does a fabulous carvery every night/day and is very cheap, well worth a visit.

Fantastic views

We stayed for one night and were the only ones there. Beautiful scenery, can see for miles. 10 min walk to pub. Short drive to Bewdley. Close to 2 arboretums, looks walkable but we drove to Bodenham as it was on our way home anyway. Really friendly & helpful people. Ehu, one loo (v clean), elsan and grey water waste point. Reasonably flat pitches although we did need to use the ramps. Overall, good - would stay again. On leaving, would recommend turning right out of the campsite as the exit onto the main road was much easier that way than if you turn left.

Outstanding Little Gem

From the moment we arrived couldn’t ask for more helpful hosts. Lovely views from every pitch over the valley. Very peaceful and tranquil. Great walks from the site no need to take the car. A fantastic few days will definitely be returning. Joanne and Ian Davidson with Monty Dog

GREAT LOCATION

A pleasant 7 day stay in late August. Nice local walks, river Severn nearby and local pubs. Nice places like Bewdley, Bridgenorth and Worcester not far away. A peaceful site and would return. Site owners made us very welcome. J & H YEOMAN, DORSET.

Great visit to The Bumbles

We stayed 8 nights and much enjoyed it. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. Very quiet site. Pitches are in a row so everyone is 'at the front' for the view. They are somewhat sloping. The ground seemed able to absorb a large quantity of rain without getting muddy or flooding our awning. Large area of well cut grass in front of the pitches. Views from the pitches are extensive of countryside and broadly eastwards. It is a short walk to get westerly views. Pub in Shatterford is in easy walking distance. It serves high quality meals at a price to match. Cheaper meals in a lovely setting are served at the local arboretum. WiFi on site worked well. The WC was much appreciated and well kept. Nearby Bewdley is very attractive on the river Severn. We hired canoes there, which was a great day going from Bridgenorth back to Bewdley.

Superb.

This CL is superb, we had a delightful stay in June 2021, a warm welcome, a relaxing stay and what a view. Fast WiFi was a great surprise and if you want to help the NHS and Air Ambulance ask Gary for a Charity CD. We expected to find some kind of info book or noticeboard but no need Gary is the local 1 man expert on all in the area. Hope to return to further explore.
