A Beautiful View

The Bury CL is a charming farm site nestled in the stunning Shropshire countryside. We received a wonderful welcome from the owner and his dog and found the site to be tidy, safe, and well-maintained. As a working farm, it was bustling with tractors and combine harvesters during the day, which we found fascinating, but it was peaceful and serene in the evenings and overnight. NB: You are not able to take your own dogs to this site.

Total tranquility

We totally endorse the previous outstanding reviews. Despite the typical British weather we had a really relaxing time. A haven of England of old away from the stresses of normal life. The whole extended Tudge family including Bob the dog go out of the way to ensure you are happy with your stay. The pork and venison produce was lovely especially barbecued. Ludlow is apparently 4miles away and is a must see medieval foodie heaven a lot to see and do. Look forward to our return.

Lovely place run by lovely people!

This was our second visit to The Bury and yet again we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay, surrounded by beautiful farmland. Chris, Charlotte - and Bob, the dog! - are very welcoming hosts, offer help if it is needed, and are more than happy to share their knowledge of local places to visit, walk, drink and eat Do take your barbecue, too, as their sausages are second to none - and there is a wide choice of other meat available to buy. The Bury is a lovely CL and will definitely be back when we feel the need to escape from our busy daily life once more! Thanks Chris and Charlotte.

Highly recommended and peaceful

We spent a fabulous week here recently. It’s a lovely tranquil site with good views, The pitches are fairly level, spacious and the hardstanding is really useful, as it rained quite a lot when we were there, but there was no standing water. Having water connected and easy disposal of grey water is always a bonus. Charlotte was more than helpful and provided us with information of the site and local area and activities. There is some information in a shed on site also. They breed their own pigs and produce pork products. Pork sausages and ham are some of the best we’ve had, and the bacon is also recommended. Charlotte sells home-baked scones for a cream tea with clotted cream and home-made jam, which was absolutely delicious. We took some scones and produce home, and our freezer compartment was completely filled with their delicious produce. Definitely recommended. It’s ideally situated, with Ludlow only around a 10 minute drive away, and whilst we were there there was a farmers market on one day and the market on the other day selling lots of goodies. We recommend the Harp Lane Deli and their authentic Portuguese custard tarts and chorizo sausage rolls which are delicious and very filling. There are some lovely shops and eateries in Ludlow. The two National Trust properties nearby are well worth a visit also. Chris and Charlotte are lovely and go the extra mile to ensure that you have a great stay, so thanks so much to you both, we will definitely return.

We will be back!

Chris and Charlotte are lovely, considerate hosts and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived - as did Bob the dog! The Bury is very well located for Ludlow and other interesting small towns in the area, so on our stay we were able to enjoy exploring and seeking out the food venues that were recommended to us. Talking of which we absolutely loved the pork burgers, sausages and bacon that Chris sells from the farm and even came home with supplies! We had a lovely break for nearly a week and it was so relaxing with a glass of wine, watching the sun set across the fields in the evening, or walking to the local pub and visiting the nearby cinema. Thank you Chris and Charlotte - we could not have enjoyed our stay any more, thanks to your kindness.

Just what you want

This is a lovely CL on a working farm. It has views over the fields and footpath to fabulous pub (1.5 miles). Pitches are all level, although our awning sloped away from the van, this wasn’t a problem, water and EHU to each pitch with grey waste disposed of in field. Hereford Ludlow are all close with great walks around the hills near Richards castle. I can strongly recommend this site.

It’s all been said…

Had our first week’s stay in July at the Bury with Charlotte. What a crackin’ little CL, great location within easy reach of the larger local towns and a community pub only a 30 min pleasant walk away. Got to agree with all the previous reviews and we will be back in the not too distant future, I’m sure.

The most friendly welcoming site

This has to be the best CL we have ever stayed at. Scenery just beautiful, large pitches on very level ground with their own water tap. Tubs of flowers in the summer and so peaceful. Charlotte and Tom are the nicest people, nothing too much trouble, the farm produce is great, we bought venison burgers, bacon, sausage and pork tenderloin all absolutely fresh and so good. Charlotte made the most delicious cream tea and delivered to our van on a pretty tray with freshly cut roses. The scones were just out of the oven and plentiful, six four two of us! Clotted cream and strawberry jam, all delicious. Love Ludlow could move there tomorrow! Will definitely be back, amazing hard working lovely people.
