Great site

Very nice CL . The site owner was lovely & came & greeted us on arrival. Field was flat & mown, with water & electric hook up on each pitch. not too far to empty waste either. Some traffic noise in day but didn't bother us, quietens down at night. Great location, not far from Lyndhurst which is lovely. We highly recommend & we will definitely return.

A good one this

A great CL site this one. All pitches have direct water access which is a HUGE bonus. Site easy to access and near all of the main attractions that the New Forest has to offer. The site owner is relaxed which always makes for a stress free holiday. Highly recommended

Mixed fortunes

This site is a flat well cared for field . It is ideally located for local attractions including ferries to IOW, beaches and the forest. However it is right on a very very busy road so road noise is an issue also one side of site is exposed to road so road users can see you quite clearly . My advice to owners would be to plant quick growing hedging on that open side to provide more seclusion . Owners very helpful and thoughtful ( left a note on our doorstep regarding status of a power cut during the day ) but I think we would look for a quieter site on further visits .

Weekend break

Just got home after a lovely weekend break at the Far side.Walked to Brockenhurst village via the track at the start of your drive. Drove to Lymington and had coffee in the marina. High-cliff where the dogs played in the sea and Mudford were we could have used our paddle boards All lovely places to visit. Also had a cream tea at Rosie Lea House. Thank you Craig for putting up with us. We will be backđź‘Ť

New CL for May Day Bank Holiday

We spent the May Day Bank Holiday at this new CL. The CL is on a main road but it didn't bother us the pitches are set back along the far-side of the field. The field is flat with lovely views over open paddocks we had some amazing sunsets from our pitch while we were there despite the wind & rain!! Each pitch as it's own water tap and EHU the pitches are large and spacious allowing you to put your unit in any-which way you like? we put ours in nose first to enjoy the views and sunsets and the caravan next to us went length-ways awning to the paddock. The entrance to the site is nice and wide for large or long units and it is easy to find. The owners Craig & Sarah are very welcoming and allow to walk down their drive to access either the New Forest or to visit the pub/restaurant opposite. (Rosie Lea House) it did look nice and very busy, unfortunately we didn't have time to visit. There is a small CoOp just 2 mins down the road turning right towards Lymington, as I forgot to pack the wine!! There is also a Tesco Express and Fish & Chip shop back up in Brockenhurst and a large Waitrose in Lymington. The CL is next to a very large field that does advertise that there are sometimes car boot sales but it didn't have any effective on our stay. We have already booked to return in July and August Bank Holiday, as it is an ideal base to explore the New Forest.

Ideally placed New Forest CL

A brand new CL. On the outskirts of Lymington you could easily spend the day looking around the town centre, mud flats and town quay. Further along the coast at Highcliffe, if you park near Cliffhanger Restaurant in the car park you could walk right along the beach to Mudeford quay and return (six miles) or take a swim as you overlook the Needles at the Western end of the IOW. or just enjoy the view from. The cliffs. Also within 15 minutes ... Beaulieu where you can visit the National Motor Museum or walk through the woods 4 miles return alongside the river to Bucklers Hard. If you Don’t want to drive, within minutes you can walk into the new Forest heathland and see Setley Pond New Forest Ponies and continue on paths further afield. Back to the site — it is a large flat field which adjoins paddocks to one side, a model Aircraft field ( saw a couple of planes on Saturday) and the owners house on the third. Alongside a main road ( behind a mature hedge) with a 40mph limit so not too loud during the day and mainly quiet at night.the site is very clean with brand new Taps and EHU to each pitch, these are well spread out with plenty of room for each unit. Rubbish and Flyid disposals are well catered for and in concrete plinths for cleanliness. Met Craig the owner a friendly chap who tells you easy footpaths into the Forest. There is a tea shop and footpaths into the Forest and bus stops within minutes of your pitch. On Sunday mornings there is a car boot sale on the model aircraft field. Didn’t wake us when setting up and could even be a bonus for some members. We would visit again and recommend this site.
