The Firs is a first rate CL. Although it is relatively near a busy - ish road, it is well screened by trees - but we were on the grass pitch, furthest from the road - those closer may not be so quiet. The facilities are very good, and kept scrupulously clean by Mary. Mary is very welcoming, offering a cup of tea on arrival, and in our case begging us to pick some plums as she had a glut ! There are three pubs within easy walking distance offering good food at reasonable prices. It gives easy access to the cycling and walking tracks in the Forest, and bike hire is in easy distance at Cannop and Parkend. The site is right on top of Clearwell Caves (quite literally!) which are worth a visit. We will certainly put it on our list for a second visit
