We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely CL. We were met by Chris on our arrival. The site is level with large pitches. Everything is very well maintained and clean. Great for dog walking and lovely friendly pubs within easy walking distance. The canal is also close for walking, and the Old Wharf cafe in Hickling is great.
Will definitely be staying here again.
Great site, made to feel welcome. It was good to be back out and about.
This was our first weekend away after lockdown and it was a great place to start.
Met by Chris, who was both welcoming and informative and continued to be so throughout.
Good dog walks and surrounded by great places to visit.
Would reccomend and will definately be returning.
Lovely Relaxing Stay
Just returned from a few days at this beautifully kept site. The perfect spot for a post Lockdown break, set in spacious, flat grounds and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The owner, Chris, gives a warm welcome and keeps everything in tiptop condition. There is a very nice tea room closeby, two pubs within a mile and plenty of country walks. Only a short drive to Melton Mowbray. Already hoping to return next year.
A place to visit and feel at home
This site is in an ideal place in the vale of Belvoir, access to many footpath walks and several picturesque villages, Chris/Jan make you very welcome and make you feel at home the pitches are very generous in size ,will be visiting there again. Pete/Carol.
Premier CL
If there was a Premier league of cos we would include Grove Farm at Kinoulton.
Very well maintained. Fine flat grass field, with electric and water points around the field, practical waste facilities and easy access. Plus a friendly owner who gave us fresh tomatoes from his greenhouse.
A very pleasant 6 day stay.

An excellent CL for walkers
This was our second stay at Grove Farm and it was just as good as the first. Chris replied quickly to me email request and arrival times etc were confirmed. Upon arrival Chris arrived to greet us and was very welcoming confirming the facilities and there was local factsheet as well with walks, pubs and things to do listed.
This site is ideal for walks or bike rides along the Grantham Canal which is why we chose it and the 2 local villages (Hickling and Kinoulton) both have good pubs and there is a nice café in Hickling next to the Canal.
In summary a great little CL, friendly hosts and a nice relaxing location. We are already planning to stay again hopefully in the next couple of months.
Really nice site - will come back
This is a very nice site in a beautiful part of the South Notts Countryside. We were here just for one night, wish it could have been more. Chris very welcoming. The information sheet given to us on arrival was very useful. The CL is grass; well maintained and level. As we were the only people on the site we were offered gravel hard standing which was fine for us.
There is a nice walk to Hickling and along the towpath of the Grantham canal, at the wharf there is a cafe and a decent pub opposite which I guess is lively later in the year. At Kinoulton there is another pub. Nottingham, West Bridgford very close by for all their attractions; this place is ideal for Trent Bridge Cricket ground!
Countryside Site
We stayed here for one night as we had swapped our motorhome for a different one and wanted to test everything whilst being near to the dealer we bought from.
Warm welcome form Chris and helpful advice, The site is adjacent to a country road but we were not disturbed by traffic at all. Easy access to major roads into Leicester and Nottingham.
Note this site does not have a shower, there is a toilet and wash basin only. The site is gated and each pitch has a key for the gate.
One of the nearby pubs has shut but in the opposite direction, a 10 minute walk, in Hickling, is the Plough Inn, we were made very welcome and chose ribs from the menu, they came with chunky slaw, great chips and battered onion rings, absolutely delicious and a generous helping. Great choice of beers and drinks, there is a pizza menu and they do takeaway pizzas, recommend this pub.
There seem to be lots of lovely walks nearby and there is also a tearoom in Hickling. Opposite the pub is Hickling Basin which is part of the Grantham Canal, very pretty with resident ducks and swans
Excellent 3 night stay
Just spent a pleasant 3 nights at Grove farm chilling out. Upon arriving on site Chris could not of been more helpful and the onsite facilities are very good including freshly mowed grass and nice level pitches.
Chris has thought of everything from your own gate key (nice to know all is secure when you are away from site) to an information sheet with a couple of local walks and places of interest. Nice coffee shop beside the canal in Hickling and pub opposite all within a 10 mins walking distance from site. Thanks again Chris we hope to return again soon.
Top CL & Top Owner too.
Late posting review due to tech hitch ! Arrived in pouring rain on Good Friday, Chris was waiting for us, said would we mind hard standing, due to really wet field, fine for us and our friends, he sorted electrics etc (even offers free WiFi) and was always on hand to help anyone. Like other reviewers, we tried The Plough pub, the Canal walks and the Canal Basin Cafe - all good. Had a great long weekend, and no mud ! Thanks Chris.
