This is a lovely peaceful CL in the quiet village of Cliburn. Close enough to the M6 and A66 to make it easy to get to, but you'd never know given how quiet it is. The owners are really friendly and helpful and the field is blessed with lovely views to two sides and is large enough so that there's plenty of room if all 5 pitches are used. The field is grass but really well maintained with regularly mowed grass and despite the few days of rain we had getting off the field wasn't a problem - the field drains really well. The shower and toilet is what you need - functional and clean and the shower works well, with plenty of hooks on the door to hang towel and clothes to keep dry. Would definitely recommend as a good base to explore the northern lakes, penrith, and the northern dales.
