Lovely off grid site in great location

The site is reasonably flat, mostly grass. Useful motorhome water fill up point on hard standing not far from entrance. The car park from one of the pubs is next door, so a certain amount of noise from that. One evening was a bit noisy, but overall very quiet and peaceful. It really is only a couple of minutes walk to the canal (and we have mobility problems) which is very interesting, always something going on. Nice little museum, with cafe. Good ice cream shop associated with The Boat Inn on the wharf. We need more sites like this.

A gem of a site

Stayed here 4 nights for 2023 Grand Prix weekend and cannot recommend the site highly enough. Perfect location and setting for a peaceful stay. Very picturesque canal side adjacent with several locks and moored barges to stroll by and a choice of waterside pubs and restaurants. Very dog friendly with some wonderful footpath walks from site. Just a pity the Grand Prix got in the way, though a very convenient location for anyone visiting Silverstone. Special thanks to the owner who couldn’t have been more helpful.

Gorgeous site, great location on the canal

We stayed at The Home Farm in June 22. The site is beautiful, easily accessed, well kept, quiet & peaceful with a lovely owner. There is enough H/S for at least 3 vehicles/outfits. The location is perfect for walking down the canal and is literally a couple of minutes walk to 2 pubs and The Spice of Bruerne Indian Restaurant. The Indian is why we chose this site after a wonderful meal there a year ago when we were on a canal boat trip. The visit this time didn't disappoint. 10/10

Gorgeous canal side site

We stayed for two nights and wish we had booked for more. The site is mostly level and well maintained. As there is no EHU there is freedom to set up anywhere. There are clean and convenient waste disposal facilities and an easy five minute walk to two pubs and an interesting canal museum. We were a little perplexed as to where the locals bought their groceries as there is no shop in Stoke Bruerne, and poor shops in the nearest village of Roade so make sure you bring you own supplies. Of the two pubs, we favoured the lovely old Boat Inn which is a locals pub where we were received in a very friendly manner and where you can relax outside and survey the to-ing and fro-ing of of the often not so skilled boatmen and women. This is a site we will return to in the future.

Loverly site

Loverly location, near the village, very quiet, (no hook- up, no problem). We loved it, will be returning.

Lovely site

Having past this site multiple times over the years coming down for the Formula 1 it’s always looked lovely, this year we have booked it prior to the F1 and had the pleasure of dealing with Mrs Jones over the phone who was absolutely lovely. Can’t wait for our stay on the banks of the Grand Union. :)

Exactly what we want from a CL

This CL is very local for us, so we thought we would give it a try for a Saturday night, and will definitely be back. A basic, peaceful, well kept site in a good location that is only five minutes walk from everything you might want to do. We were fortunate with the October weather allowing a couple of drinks outside The Boat Inn and a very tasty take away from the Spice of Bruerne. The Navigation pub is right next door too but was closed for refurbishment when we were there. All surrounding roads are narrow, and if you have a long unit you may find access via the road directly from the A508 easier than through the village.

Awesome

Stayed here for 3 fabulous nights in September. It is a wonderful little site amongst trees, with some hardstanding, which might be useful if it had been wet. There are no marked out pitches, which we like. Access is very easy. We were super lucky as the weather was gorgeous that weekend. There is a good elsan point with its own tap. There are 2 drinking water taps in the field and the recycling/rubbish bins are very well organised and emptied daily, by the lovely Alison. We are keen walkers and access to local paths is extremely easy, we had 3 great walks, straight from the site. Alison, the host is one of the loveliest people you could wish to meet. Nearby is an Indian Restaurant, Spice of Bruerne. We can highly recommend it. It is literally 3 minutes walk away. Honestly, it is one of the best Indian Restaurants we have ever been to, good food, service, setting and outstanding value for money.

Idyllic site

We have just spent a long weekend at this wonderful site. It is a basic grass site which we prefer. Some levelling may be required. There is water, an elsan point, bins for recycling, well cut grass, dog friendly and easy to access, what more is needed. It is next to the Grand Union Canal and the Navigstion pub but none of these were intrusive, despite it being a bank holiday (although at the moment in these mad times outside eating only for the pubs). It was good to watch the boats going through the locks, these were a short walk from the site. There are an abundance of walks in the area if you like walking and within an easy walk of the site are 2 pubs, a wonderful Indian restaurant (take away only again at the moment), the canal museum (shut while we were there) with its cafe (which was open). We can vouch for the food in all these places and the Ice cream from the Boat Inn. Easy walking along the canal side, a lot of it pushchair/wheelchair friendly and plenty of places to cycle, there is a bus stop in the village of Stoke Bruerne. We saw many buses but at this particular time had no need to use them. The lady owner came & collected your money and she was lovely to deal with. She promptly replied to our e-mails when booking too.

CL site basic but great location

Very nice site alongside the Grand Union Canal, with easy access to the canal for walkers and cyclist and two wonderful pubs the Navigation and The Boat Inn, both service excellent food with canal side seating. There is also an Indian restaurant alongside the canal, The Canal Museum, and a small canal shop, waterside cafe and a very nice 5 mile walk around the countryside shown below. This site is nicely located not far from Towcester for shopping, petrol and a selection of supermarkets or you are not far from Northampton main town. Located not far from the main M1 making this site an excellent stop over if you are traveling up/down the country.
