Recently visited this CL. It's best feature must be the truly remerkable peace and tranquility. It's set in gentle pastureland in North Shropshire, and there was not even distant road noise when we were there, as it's well away from the nearest main road. All vans have an unobstructed south facing view over open pasture-land, and there are no overhanging trees. The only sounds were of birds and the gentle lowing of cows. The facilities are the basic ones that one would expect from a CL. Electric hook -up is by a card in the slot system. We spent two summer nights there for less than a pound. The pitches consist of five level hard-standings in a row, a boon in wet weather and the era of heavy vans, but perhaps rather close together. The approach is via the Wem-Whitchurch B road. The approach from Whitchurch is probably to be preferred as Wem can be a bit tricky when traffic is heavy. However, we did approach via Wem and did not encounter any problems. The final approach is via half a mile or so of country lane, but there are plenty of passing places and good sight-lines. We noticed there was no instruction in the handbook about directions from Whitchurch. This should be rectified. Entry onto the site is a different matter. It is by a fairly narrow S-shaped drive through the owners beautiful garden, and long outfits like ours will might find it a little tricky, but we managed. Plenty of shops, banks, pubs serving food,restaurants and takeaways are available in Wem and its immediate vicinity. It's a good base for exploring North Shropshire and the rest of Shropshire and Ironbridge are within easy reach. The maze of country lanes in the vicinity are excellent for cycling, but bring an OS map. Overall, if you want true, simple, rural peace, then this is the ideal getaway.
