We literately stumbled upon this CL site and as we live locally we thought we'd give it a try. We had only just bought our tourer and wanted to try it out before setting of on our next adventure (just as well as we had a few minor problems with it) We booked over the phone and when we arrived the warden was at the gate ready to greet us. He gave us directions to our plot and followed us down on foot and was ready to meet us when we got to the plot. It's a lovely place, very quiet and tranquil (except for the odd train) We had initially booked for 7 nights but have now extended that to 21 nights. The Grand Union Canal is very close and many pleasant walks are to be had It is a very basic site with water, electric hook ups, and toilet disposal. Gayton Marina is a short drive away if you need a gas bottle (or feel the need to hire a day boat for a cruise) and I believe there is a pub nearby (need to check that one out) ten minutes up the road is a Tesco supermarket and Northampton town is about a 15 minute drive with KFC, and MacDonalds Alde, Lidl, and a B&Q. The Warden George is probably one of the kindest and most helpful people I have ever met, he is really nice guy! Some other reviewers have said that the noise from the nearby train line is noisy and to be honest yes you can rear them but we did not find them very intrusive. The site is open all year.
