A Great Find

We stayed here in April (with a couple of dogs) and were really pleased to have found it. Very handy for the Whisky Distillery and then some great walks around the area afterwards. Nice peaceful, well kept site - easy access and very clean and well provisioned toilet area. Feel comfortable to recommend it 100%. The hosts are nice people as well:)

A lovely CL Site

We spent a weekend (May 2018) at this lovely CL site with our family. The pitches were spacious and well maintained and it was very peaceful with the fishing lake and pony paddocks surrounding the site. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We used the site as a base as we visited High Lodge, Thetford Forest. The children enjoyed the space and walking around the fishing lake, the toilet block was a bonus and we would both recommend and return to this site in the future.

A lovely weekend at The Lodge CL

Site well set out each with own water tap. Warm welcome from very friendly owners. Several fishing lakes well stocked. Reasonably priced. All in all a very nice place to spend a restful break in the countryside. Visited very recently, and will be returning again.

Nice friendly site

Our second visit, we had been concerened about the amount of rain lately so decided to head here, as the area sits on sandy gravel. As imagined it was very well drained and dry, so access on and off the site was as easy as it can be especially as since our last visit the site has a dedicated driveway rather than shared with the fishing lakes ( which was never an issue anyway). Very welcoming and friendly owners who are relaxed about dogs which we really appreciate. A few there were fishing in the lakes, but we were more interested in the lovely walks around the local forest, so enjoyable. The weather was amazing, at last! The pitches are well marked out with plenty of space for all, and you look out over paddocks of horses. Everyone on the site we chatted to was very friendly too, which makes for an even nicer stay. The local chippy at East Harling is an added bonus, fish and chips, kebabs too. All the shopping you need is down the road at Thetford and we can recommend a visit to Cranberry Rough if you enjoy walking, like a british everglades..an amazing wetland area not too far away.

Peaceful setting

Lovely simple and peaceful site. Basic toilets but very clean and acceptable. Hosts very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful surroundings - walks for dogs in nearby woods and fishing lakes if that's your interest. Easily accessible from A11. English distillery nearby worth a visit.

Peace & Simplicity

Booked this site for a weekend simply because it was handy for the English Whisky Company (tour and whisky both highly recommended!) and was very glad I did. The site was easy to reach from the A11 (just watch out for the sharp turn into the drive) and pitching was a dream - a level, open field with a tap & EHU per pitch. The two toilets were clean and well-provisioned and a full range of re-cycling bins were provided. The site is far enough from any main roads that the only traffic noise was the fishermen arriving in the morning. There are horses in the neighbouring field and flocks of geese flew over each morning & evening. Local cycling routes and footpaths are easily accessible and we enjoyed visiting local villages and pubs. Sadly we didn't get around to visiting the pubs in East Harling, so I guess we'll just have to go back next year!

Perfect Peace

Stayed on this lovely site for 3 nights and really feel we have had a break. Lovely welcome from owners and fortunately met some very nice and friendly members on site too. The weather was perfect, so did some local cycling and walking, and the lovely village of East Harling catered for all our needs. Maybe we were just lucky this time but definitely plan to return.

A CL as it should be

Just returned from a short stay of 3 nights with 2 grandchildren of 4+ years old. This was their first caravan adventure and this site provided just the right setting for them. Plenty of room to run around without disturbing other visitors. The bonus of water and electricity at each pitch added to joy of this site. All other facilities, including very clean and tidy toilets, were a bonus. There is a lesson here to other CL providers, make the site inviting in all respects and members will return again and again as well as spreading the word. Very well done and thank you.

How can I put you off and keep this site for ourselves

OK I give up and will tell you the truth - it's an excellent site. A friendly welcome, pet friendly, well spaced outfits, lots of water points and countryside views. Excellent local walks and cycling, easy access to woodland and all you need village shops nearby. No entertainment for needy children but adventures galore for the more imaginative - watch out for unfenced water though. They do have a loo for visitors but this is a site for self sufficient vanners who enjoy peace in the countryside.

A gem !!!

My wife and I discovered this site a month ago and we were so impressed that we have just been back with 3 other couples over the bank holiday weekend having recommended it to them. Like us they all agreed that this is a lovely quiet site in a delightful area close to Thetford Forest. The owners are really charming and as fellow club members themselves they have arranged for all pitches to have their own water point, which we found very pleasing as easy to use our onboard tank. The site adjoins several lakes which offer excellent fishing, if of interest, but are just a pleasant attraction to the site even if you don't want to fish. This is an area of Norfolk which we haven't spent much time in before but undoubtedly we will be back to spend more time in this area.
