Very relaxing stay

We had a lovely time on this relaxing, comfortable site in a lovely location in rural Dorset on a working farm. There were good amenities ( shower etc) and a very friendly welcome from Judith. There is plenty to do nearby, whatever the weather, and we would certainly consider returning for a future visit

The best CL we've found

We spend 4 nights here at the end of June. The site is well situated, facilities are well organised and clean and tidy, There are regular bus services to Dorchester and Weymouth a 10 minute stroll away, and the Tesco in Dorchester has a big enough car park to take a modest motorhome. Best of all, you could walk almost straight from the site onto Maiden Castle, the biggest earthwork in England.

Lovely small site

Well kept, small cl site on a working farm. Owner was lovely and helpful. Facilities immaculate. Small hut/shed with lots of local information. Would recommend to all or maybe I should have kept a secret 😂. Thanks Judy for a lovely peaceful stay 😊

A lovely little site with lots to do close by

We stayed at The Manor House whilst our grandson was Karting at Clay Pigeon and added a few days holiday either side of the weekend. The location was ideal for our needs about 20 minutes from the track but close to so many places of interest. Booking and payment was easy through their website and communication was excellent giving all the information we needed by both text and email as our stay approached. With the exception of a very short stretch of single track with passing places the access is via main roads. The road to Weymouth is busy so you might have to wait a few minutes to turn off for the site but there’s a filter lane to wait in and it’s well signed. The site is not huge but grass pitches are a good size and have a tv aerial and EHU per pitch - drinking water and waste disposal are nearby. There is a clean toilet and shower available too which is handy. We visited Fleet Air Arm Museum, Montecute House, Athelhampton House, Hardy’s Cottage, the gardens at Kingston Maurward and Poole. We also spent a lovely evening at Weymouth which is only a few miles away and walked from site up to Maidens Castle (which made us puff) another evening. If in the area again we’d happily return. Thank you both.

A beautiful site, unspoilt and tranquil.

We have just returned from a week at The Manor House CL and once again look forward to returning. The site is level, clean and peaceful. Guests who book in appear to be content to enjoy the nature and surroundings, when they return after visiting the many local attractions. We visit family in the area and the CL site provides a great base on which to do so. The shower block is clean and modern, with plenty of hot water and a brilliant adjustable shower and shower seat. From the site you can see Maiden Castle and there are lots of opportunities to walk and experience the Dorset countryside. Judy works very hard to maintain a high standard on the site and can regularly be seen mowing the grass/checking facilities - should you require any advice. Our favourite CL site 👍

Quiet site and level

The tow in is easy, the last 400m looks scary but isn't. TheToilets/Shower is recent and well kept. Our pitch was level, so set up was really easy. The CDP leads to a septic tank, so you need non-formaldehyde toilet fluid - usefully the owner has some for sale if you arrive without. Good information hut. You can get a TV signal but there is also a wired booster, so you do need to know how to connect an external aerial cable to your rig. Lovely walk from the site up onto Maiden Castle.

Excellent site

Despite difficulties with booking on the website, the owner could not have been more helpful in sorting this out and keeping us informed about our booking. Rain in the week beforehand meant the grass pitch was u suitable for our 3.5 ton motorhome but again the cheerful owner sorted this quickly and we were given a hardstanding. It is a very quiet and peaceful CL and yet the main road with buses to Weymouth and Dorchester is within 10 minutes walk of the site, making it easy to leave your van and yet travel in the area. There is no drive over waste drain but we were able to use a drainage hosepipe to access the drain, and there is a CDP point and bins. I would highly recommend this beautiful CL.

Excellent CL with great facilities

We love this site and the facilities are great for a CL - it's quiet and peaceful although on a working farm, the loos and shower are clean and in a converted outbuilding, the wifi is good and better than most club sites and there are now a couple of hardstanding pitches. It's easy to get into local facilities and great for walking and cycling the highways and byways of this part of Dorset. Judy, the host, is very welcoming and we've now been here twice - and will be back again!

Lovely site below Maiden Castle

Well managed site in rural setting but with good access to buses for Dorchester and Weymouth. Excellent facilities and easy access. Have stayed here many times and have always been welcomed.

Great welcome, fantastic facilities!

Booked for same day arrival on a bank holiday weekend due to a water leak at the site we had originally booked. Judy was very welcoming and helpful especially given the torrential rain on arrival. The site itself was very well maintained and had the most amazing toilets and showers. Toilets were roomy and very clean. The shower was the best of any CL and better than most club sites we have visited with loads of hot water and good disabled access. Maiden Castle a short walk away is very impressive as is Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester. We had a great long weekend, thanks Judy!
