Wet Half Term, Amazing CL

Second time at this CL for what was a very wet half term meet up with granddaughters. Inspite of the rain there was plenty to keep them occupied the site being ideally sited within the New Forest. Access is easy and due to the waterlogged ground conditions ( I did say it was wet at the start of the review) along with a number of fellow caravanners we were helped off of the site by Bob with his trusty Land Rover. Many thanks Bob it was really appreciated. Will we be returning almost certainly the peace and quiet, the walks, and above all friendlyness that the site generates is a big attraction. Next year it may be during the Spring half term when it will hopefully be a bit drier. I would recommend Leisure Fayre in Lyndhurst if you run out the essentials, Calor Gas, Chemicals, etc very helpful. Ann, Bob hope to see you again next year, keep up the good work and once again thank you for a delightful half term break.

Excellent CL

we stayed on this CL 15-25th June and is a loveley CL with spotless facities. Excellent location, easy access, and very friendly owners, (Ann & Bob). The only issue, (which was nothing to do with the site) was a irresponsable couple with a Jack Russell runing riot, barking all the time, and not being kept on a lead. Which all other dog owners on the site did. However, you cannot let one selfish couple spoil an excellent site.

Beautiful CL

The flowers, manicured grass, and beautiful surroundings, as well as the friendly owners made this site a pleasure to have visited. Although we did not use the wc and shower everything about this site was lovely. The lane leading behind the CL was a treat to walk my dogs and seeing the wildlife too. You can also cross into the forest from the site itself and walk into Lyndhurst. Information regarding footpaths from the site would have been useful (even though we took an os map) but I am being very pernickety here.... The only downside was the road noise during the day, but please don't let this put you off. The site is a gem and a credit to it's owners.

Ssh dont tell anyone....

The site is well manicured, and Mill House is exactly how a CL should be and this is beautiful an absolute gem, but ssh don’t tell everyone. Easy to find and on arrival we were soon met by Anne who is often about, checking everything is ok. The site is where you will be greeted with a lovely fountain in front of you and the pitches surround this in a horseshoe configuration. The fountain also has the water tap located with a hose that fits your pitch so makes filling up with water easy. The pitches are hard standing and there's plenty of hard standing room if you have an awning too. Definitely worth bringing some hardstanding rock pegs as even the grass area is quite hard. The shower block is immaculate and clean. There are two shower/toilets. The showers have fantastic pressure. Anne the owner is a very attentive, she pops around to check that everything is ok, she obviously puts a lot of effort in looking after the site, it is beautifully maintained, some very pretty flower borders dotted around too. Direct walking from the site which is brill for the early morning dog walk -if you go out by the gate near the toilets onto the track and there is a footpath to walk along by yourself or with your dog- it means you can avoid walking out onto the road! There is a footpath at the rear of the site which via a few lanes takes you to the Trusty Servant pub at Minstead. This is a lovely pub which serves good food. There are also lots of walks in the Forest within a short drive of the site. The site is quiet with only occasional noise from the road and from New Forest Hounds which live fairly close. Levelling blocks are provided but the site is relatively level. We loved our stay and will be back!

Delightful site

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was really lovely, so quiet and peaceful. The site was very well kept even though we were out of season. The shower facilities were large and shower was lovely and hot. Whilst it is not far from Lyndhurst (lots of lovely places to eat and drink) there is not a path along the main road so walking was not an option. Lyndhurst doesn't have it's own taxi company (March 2023) so had to use a Brockenhurst Taxi which was a standard flat fee of £15.00. This is a delightful site and will be staying here again.

A QUIET SITE IN THE MIDDLE OF NEW FOREST NATIONAL PARK

The site is ideal as abase to explore the New Forest National Park.. Lyndhurst is within 30 minutes walk (use the route via Emery Down to avoid the A337) and the information centre in the centre of the town is worth a visit. There is a footpath at the rear of the site which via a few lanes takes you to the Trusty Servant pub at Minstead. There are lots of walks in the Forest within a short drive of the site suggest you download the Newforest app with walks to find those that meet your taste. The site is quiet with only occasional noise from the road . Levelling blocks are provided but the site is relatively level. We were on the site with our caravan after a period of heavy rain but the site drained quite quickly with no standing water which was a bonus. Motorhomes might find the pitches opposite the entrance gate a bit slippy in these conditions and Bob and Anne tend to place these on the two hardstanding areas adjacent to the entrance. Note all of the pitches are hardstanding. I noted that one review mentioned that the site did not cater for children because of the signs saying No Ball Games. We were there with our Daughter in her caravan and the two granddaughters. The site was perfect with no complaints from the two girls who thoughly enjoyed themselves. We enjoyed the peace and quiet the site provided. As for shopping Lyndhurst has a reasonable sized Tesco express/local and there is a large Morrisons at Totton. In short this is an ideal base to explore the New Forest and yes we will return. Thank you Bob and Anne you have a fantastic site.

Perfect Site

What a wonderful CL , Anne is a very attentive owner, she pops around to check that everything is ok, which it was, she obviously puts a lot of effort in looking after the site, it is beautifully maintained, some very pretty flower borders dotted around too. The arrival instructions are very clear so its easy to find. Plenty to see and do around The New Forest a stunning location and we enjoyed exploring , there is plenty more to see and do and we certainly will return to this splendid site. Celia and Martin Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic

Communication with Anne was great from the time of booking . Mill House is exactly how a CL should be and this is an absolute gem . Easy to find instructions and on arrival we were soon met by Anne who is often about checking everyone is ok . The CL is beautiful with a fountain in the middle with a hose that fits your pitch so makes filling up with water easy . It has two toilets and showers which were great and always clean n tidy . There a lovely lake at the back that really nice to walk round and you can fish if staying on CL but priority is given to the syndicate that fish there . You can walk from the site into Lyndhurst through the forest which takes about 20-30 minutes which we did several times . We absolutely loved this CL so peaceful , just like being in someone’s garden .

Mill "WOW" house

What can I say as an introduction to CL locations this one is amazing if all the others are like this then the Caravan club subscription is well worth it! ACCESS: Access from the A337 is nice an easy, you head down Furzy Lawn Lane over a cattle grid and a couple of hundred yards down the road on the right hand side you will see a sign for Mill House. There's no problem getting a caravan over the width restriction of the cattle grid and we are new to the touring caravan world! As you turn in off the road to the site the caravan field is the first gate on the right. SITE You will be greeted with a lovely fountain in front of you that also has the water tap located. The caravans surround it in a horseshoe configuration. It's just wonderful sitting there listening to the fountain. The pitches are hard standing and there's plenty of hard standing room if you have an awning too. Definitely worth bringing some hardstanding rock pegs as even the grass area is quite hard. The site is well manicured. You can hear a bit of road noise at the site at times but that really is only when some traffic drive along the lane it really doesn't affect your stay. FACILITIES: as mentioned before the water tap is located in the middle of the field by the fountain. The shower block is immaculate and clean. There are two shower/toilets. The showers have fantastic pressure and will cater for those artic loving showers to those with asbestos skin (of which I am one of them, who could hate a boiling hot shower?!). They have recycling and general waste facilities by the toilets and these are tidy and well maintained. There's also a place to put your dog poo bags! Also this is where your husband empties your casette and again these are nice and clean. HOSTS Very attentive and there when you need them without being over bearing. They are also very helpful at guiding where you can walk from the site. Overall just what a lovely welcoming couple. WALKING Just great! Direct walking from the site which is brill for the early morning dog walk -if you go out by the gate near the toilets onto the track and turn right there is a footpath to walk the pooches along- it saves you walking out onto the road! Loads of walking if you come out the main drive and go straight over the road into the forest.
