Idyllic CL site

Great site hidden in the trees. We stayed two nights, but wished was longer and will be back. Easy access 20 min walk/10 min bike ride) to North Walsham where there is a great little micro-pub called ‘Hop in’ and access to great train service to Cromer/Sherringham/Wroxham and Norwich (so coast, broads and city!). Also, fishing (which didn’t/don’t do) and dog walks in woods. Very reasonable cost for hard standing, with a WC on site with all the other usual CL facilities. EHU was metered but at very reasonable price so WE WILL BE BACK😃

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS

We really enjoyed our stay here last year. Pretty little CL, a little bit shaded by surrounding trees, but sunny spots too. Great fishing lake on site bookable before arriving on site. Plenty to do in surrounding parts of Norfolk. WiFi and TV hookup available too. In our opinion CLs don’t come much better than this little gem. Going back again this year 😊

Tranquil and very well run CL

Tranquil and very well run CL. Spotlessly clean with facilities and grounds very well maintained by Neil & Julie who are warm and friendly owners. Very good wi-fi connection included in the price. Booking arrangements were prompt and professional. Adjacent well maintained fishing lake where I spent an enjoyable few hours. As dog owning motor-homers we made use of local buses/trains accessed from North Walsham to extend our range of walks and take in the coast between Mundesley and Sheringham. North Walsham can be reached on foot via public footpaths save the first few hundred metres where caution for pedestrians is required. This is a very pretty part of Norfolk and The Old Stables is a great location for exploring the area. We would not hesitate to return when next in the area.

very easy to find, Neil and Julie are lovely owners and give us a nice warm welcome, very clean site, wife and i stayed at the site for 6 nights. one of the best fishing places i been to on cl sites, first day of fishing i caught 14 carp from 4 lb to 10 lb and the biggest fish was about 12 lb over the holiday period. a very well looked after site and lake, local access to shops, and the coast not far away and the broads. we will come back later in the year. A WEEK IN MARCH

A perfect CL..Neil and Julie the most affable of hosts. This site is very peaceful and quiet..level too! Good fishing(for my other half at least) would recommend to any one..(but if I do, you'll all go there and we won't get booked in) Thanks to Neil and Julie..nothing is too much trouble. We'll be back for 3rd time in the not too distant future.

Almost perfect CL.

Spent a week at The Old Stables at the end of March for some fishing and cycling and loved it so much stayed an extra couple of days. Julie and Neil have a lovely site, nice and private with a super lake right next to the pitches. The pitches are mostly hard standing with EHU which is metered. In my motorhome I used just over £2 a day, not bad for a chilly week in March, which would obviously reduce with no heating in summer, so very fare. There is only one loo and no showers at the moment but the loo was kept immaculately clean for the duration of my stay. Recycling and Chemical toilet disposal is all fenced off in the same area as the loo's. The only slight issue is there is nowhere to drop off your grey waste from a motorhome, whilst this is a fairly standard on most CL's, but Neil was happy for me to run of the grey waste via a hose in the bushes. Fishing was great fun and despite the chilly windy weather I caught plenty. At £7 a day and the flexibility of half day tickets probably encouraged me to fish more than I would have! Great location for exploring the area on bikes with a number of small market towns nearby and there is even a Waitrose about half a mile up the road, what more could you ask? I'll be back!

A bit of peace and quiet!

We spent a week on this wonderful C/L during the wonderful hot spell July / Aug 2018. The owners Neal and Julie are most welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. All in all a terrific place to stay for peace and quiet and still being able to visit the Norfolk coastline. We will return!!

An absolute treasure of a cl

We found this site 8 years ago and have booked every year to return - in that first year we wondered what it would be like driving up the lane with overgrown fields to the left and trees hiding who knew what to the right, We turned the bend and entered the site surrounded by trees, well maintained by Keith and Margaret the then site owners. 2 years ago it was taken over by Neil and Julie and on our first year under the new ownership approached with a little trepidation - had they changed the site ?, had they increased the prices ?, Would they be as welcoming and helpful as the old owners had been ? - WE NEED NOT HAVE WORRIED. I already knew of the lake from our previous years having been told the biggest carp was about 10 lbs - imagine my surprise on the 6th year to pull out a 15 lb`er - duly weighed and photographed - this year I have not been yet but am looking forward to a session or two. The addition of a small bench is a delightful surprise which I must say thank you to those who donated it in memory of one of their members - I have enjoyed several restful periods sitting there and contemplating nothing in particular. The site is close to N. Walsham 5 mins drive away, but quiet and sedate, Cromer and Sheringham are within easy reach and as last year there is now a shortage of Cromer Crabs - I love em lol. We are here for another few days yet but have already booked to come back again next year. Our thanks to Neil and Julie for another really enjoyable holiday - looking forward to seeing you again next year already. Phil and Audrey Garner

Excellent CL (Sshh do not tell anyone!)

We spent two weeks on site in July, the pitch was perfectly level with ample of room. The owners are two of the nicest people you could meet. The site facilities are very basic but it is a CL, there is a single toilet only. There is a big lake on site for great fishing. Marc & Chris
