Beautiful location, very relaxed and helpful hosts

We wanted somewhere in Wiltshire that was dog-friendly, away from traffic, had great walks, views and wi-fi (so that we could get some work done), and we found it all at this great CL. Fiona and her husband could not have been more helpful. Harry, our 6-year-old Lab, had the best time, and it was lovely to be able to take him to such a dog-friendly place.  Although they're not on the official description, the loo and shower are welcome facilities. Not grand, but everything works! We will definitely return to this lovely corner of Wiltshire. It's truly rural and peaceful...

2 week holiday

Last used this site 3 years ago. After 10 years of Club caravanning on Cl's we felt this was the best that we had enjoyed. A well kept spacious site with glorious views to the White Horse hills 5 miles away. No noise and plenty of wild life. The toilet and shower facility was not advertised in the particulars, as it was not quite finished, but had hot water and was clean.Perfectly functional, if one was prepared to accept it as found and we understand, will shortly be completed to the high standards of the rest of the site. The slope on the site is minimal and one is well sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds. Plenty of electric hook up points, easy to use drains and water taps with lawns close mown and mud free. Thank you!

Could be great

I agree with the comments made by Mothman. Owners were away so pitched wherever (plenty of room) but more than 5 caravans.  I couldn't recommend the shower/toilet block - too dirty.  Price for a CL very high.  Area is very nice.

Not a bad site - but things wrong with it

Spacious site with hook-up, wifi, loo and shower (although latter a bit grotty). Was told £14 on the phone, but owner then added a £1 for awning. Now it appears it's gone up to £17pn! I was also told I'd 'pitched in the wrong place', as they'd over-booked. There also seemed to be an extended family with commercial vehicles staying at the bottom of the CL. Suggest they insert 'call at house before siting caravan', or put in pitch pegs. Actually not a bad site - but things wrong with it that could be put right...

Shame about the price

I booked in on the strength of the notes in the book, and only read the reviews and noticed the price above when we were on site. A 25% price hike from the 2013 book price seems extortionate although we were then only charged £15 a night with an awning so someone's maths isn't too hot. The view has largely disappeared behind the edge but a deer wandered across the site one evening, so not all bad.

Not so friendly

Stayed recently, will not be returning. Owners make out to be accomodating, Mr agrees one thing, Mrs changes decision that was made. They do not like to see caravans from house. Drinking water tap not easy to find on arrival. Smacks of wanting your money but not the van, The noise of children playing must not upset the people in the holiday let.

Poor Site

On arrival 4 caravans packing up, all had more than one dog in pens, all had awnings which left badly tainted pitches.   Were asked to park out of sight of house which left little choice of a clean pitch. First electric point showed earth and live crossed, next socket correct lights on tester. Owner cut over pitches that night leaving grass cuttings.Left the next day for a more welcoming site.

PEACEFUL

The was our very first time caravanning, so can't yet compare with any other site but thoroughly enjoyed it! Friendly owners, very peaceful setting. Go for a walk one evening, turn left out of the site and walk to the end of the road, you'll see some lovely cottages! Ideal place to take a dog!

Ideal site

We have just spent a wonderful weekend on site. It is absolutely ideal site for a bit of peace and quiet, and wonderful views. Ideally located for easy access to the plentiful places of interest in this beautiful part of the world. Would definitely stay here again.
