Ease of arrival/welcome

Lovely setting but a few issues

Stayed on this CL in August and is a large site in a lovely setting. Despite being a large site the electricity hook up points are only on one side which with the five caravans allowed would be very congested in one area, luckily only 4 at the time of our stay but still felt cramped. The water tap in the hedge would have benefited from a hard standing and a resident dog that appeared to wander around the site left its calling card next to the tap. At time of arrival we were advised not to park in certain areas near our caravan as this would spoil the view for B&B guest staying at the Old Vicarage! We felt it was unnecessary for the grass to be cut by a tractor at 6.30 to 8 in the evening when we were sat outside eating and not even acknowledged by the driver. Site fees are ok but why charge an extra £2 for awning, should this not be included on a CL site. Due to the above issues we would not recommend or stay again.

Hi

i am sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay a couple of months ago.

Also we didn’t know of your arrival before parking and setting up.  We would have addressed things personally and generally run through things.

To clarify, there are three different sets of electric hook ups with at least five socket points in each box.  I am sorry we didn’t have the opportunity to point the other two out.

A reasonable point regarding the cutting of grass.  It is difficult to always get this right with guests about at different times and we have to factor in the weather.  The advantage of it being done using an old tractor is that it only takes a maximum of 15 minutes.  I am sorry we got the timing wrong for you.  I am also sure my husband would have waved acknowledgement had he seen one from you and considered any concerned looks.

The awning fee, covers the repair to the grass.  The ground sheets and lack of light kills the grass very quickly and some guests stay for a week or more and their awnings are at least as large as their vans.

There is hard standing by the main water tap and this was inspected by the manager a couple of weeks ago.

The site is within the grounds of our home and the last thing we want is unhappy or uncomfortable feelings from guests.

Good luck with the rest of the year.

Kind regards

Fiona
