Great seaside CL

Great CL and will be returning hopefully. Site was well maintained, grass kept short and toilet/shower clean. Lovely view to the beach but more beautiful was the view up the hillside send the sheep. Access from the main road was a little steep but not a problem.m

A great CL near Barmouth

A great CL about two miles north of Barmouth. Situated on the east side of the road Between Barmouth to Tal-Y-Bont. The gate and driveway is a little tight and steep but no problem. The sign at the gate is for Hendre Clochydd Hall. There are signs for C&MC and also C&CC but NO SIGN for "The Orchard". Drive up and through the small cluster of properties, then fork to the left for the CL. The pitches are hard standing levelled into the Slope but separated from the access drive by grass, ( as per illustrations.} Some further levelling ramps may still be preferred by some. Shower and toilet block fitted out to a high standard and is immaculate. A sea view from your pitch out towards Abersoch across the bay is likely to provide beautiful sunsets. A short walk out to the road gate and a similar distance through a more developed site for "statics" brings you to the beach.

Stunning sunsets

Just spent a week on this CL and could not fault it. Views over the sea were fantastic and we were treated to several brilliant sun sets which brought out all the campers to watch. Site is easy to find and received a warm welcome. Access to the beach is great just keep an eye on the tides. Dog walk on site which is easily accessible. Norbar just a ten minute walk away is well recommended especially the fish and chips and the bacon and sausage cobs. In wet weather the site wasn't boggy. Barmouth and the walk across the railway bridge is good and a walk along the Mawddach trail is well worth it, just watch out for bikes! Would visit again if in the area.

Our first CL stay

As new members to the club we hope that all CL's we visit are as lovely and well maintained as this one, The owners were polite and helpful, our boys loved the beach across the road and a short 2 mile drive lands you in Barmouth, perfect retreat for those forget the rest of the world weekends.

Windy mini break

We arrived on Friday and the site is well signposted. Bit of a scary drive up the hill as this was the first time I pulled our caravan with my car. The site is beautifully maintained and the toilet block is wonderful and kept very clean. The 20p shower was hot and long enough. It was very windy and we got sodden on the beach which was about 5 minute walk away. We really enjoyed the dog walk on site. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend! Sue and Yvette and dogs.

One of the best!

We run a CL ourselves, so we know what to expect. John and Grace are excellent hosts, they are very friendly and helpful. The site is immaculate, and the views from the pitches are stunning - you wouldn't find better anywhere in the world. On our CL, many visitors say we should advertise it as lawned - and John keeps his CL exactly the same. There is a modern toilet and shower block which are kept immaculate. There are a selection of visitor leaflets, bus and train timetables which are all within easy reach. Overall, we had a fantastic time and have already booked for next year. Thank you John and Grace for a fantastic three week stay.

Beautiful setting

We haven't used a lot of CLs before but after our stay here we were really impressed.  For the five pitch field there were four taps so many pitches had their own, the waste and loo points were perfectly fine too.  The loo and shower block in the next field was small but perfectly adequate.  Leaflets and train/bus timetables were available which was really useful.  The beach is walking distance and was lovely, we also walked to nearby train station.  But the views from the site made it, absolutely stunning. There's no data signal for phones in the area... That's not a complaint though.

Well sited and well kept CL

First CL we have stayed at since joining the Caravan Club with our new (to us) motorhome. Access in our 5m long motorhome was simple. I didn't think the access lane was very narrow or steep - your opinion may be different! Great welcome on arrival. Nice system of marker posts with your name on to show you which pitch is yours. Hard standing was good, had to use leveling wedges as the field is far from flat. Grass cut nice and short. Electric hookup included. Toilets in next field, clean and well maintained. Lovely views down to the sea below. Great start to our CC membership.

Wales retreat

Just returned from this lovely CL.  Mr Williams very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The strip of level concrete to side of pitch very useful for levelling van. Driveway is uphill and appears narrow but isn't to bad just take care when passing between houses and all ok.  We had a very nice week even though the weather wasn't the kindest. We will recommend this site to you all and hopefully return again one day.
