Peaceful site in a charming area

Large level site meant it was easy to pitch. Plenty of room to spread out. Owners were very friendly and helpful and introduced us to their Wensleydale sheep and lambs. Lots of wild life in the area and the site was visited by rabbits and ducks whilst overhead were buzzards and a red kite. Beccles is a few minutes drive away with Southwold and the Suffolk coast about 20 minutes amble through the countryside. Closer to the site is Raveningham Hall garden and the Raveningham centre with antiques, craft and hobby outlets. Some of the local roads are very narrow so we were glad we followed the directions to the site. If you do venture down the lanes there are some wonderful sights. The church at Burgh St Peter is unusual and well worth a look! We hope to be back again before the end of the year to explore further. Would highly recommend this site.

Lovely CL in an interesting area

We've never taken our caravan to this area before, but will go back. We stayed a week at The Pightle in September and it was full most of the time (which in itself is a good recommendation).  Very quiet & peaceful, no views from the site itself but plenty of interesting places nearby. Pitches are level - if it's a sunny pitch you're after the far end (furthest from the water, bins & drain) is the best. Beccles, only a couple of miles away, is well worth a visit. Lovely town with a great butchers (Chambers - 7 New Market) who supplied excellent sausages & bacon plus some goodies for the BBQ. Booking, payment & arrival were all trouble free. When you leave it's a good idea to get your partner to check that there's nothing coming up the road before you pull out as visibility is a bit restricted without sticking the nose of your car out.  If you're solo then just keep your ears open.  A convex mirror on the opposite side of the road would help, but that's being picky.
