This site is in a small grassy field at the back of the Pub, the 5 Pitches are marked out with cones and plastic chains. The pitches are tight but usable.
There are ample hook ups and easy access to water and waste points, plus CDP.
The current site handbook omits the full directions to the site, so make sure you check the listing on the web site, it’s an easy tow as long as you don’t miss the turning for Cantley!
Yes it is close to the Norwich to Lowestoft/Yarmouth railway and a large Sugar Beet factory, but we did not experience any noise problems. There is a good line of Willow trees between the site access road and the railway so a lot of the noise is screened very effectively.
The owners and pub staff are very friendly and helpful, the food in the Reedcutter Inn is great with huge portions, certainly recommended.
Excellent CL
A spur of the moment decision to head out overnight somewhere local and a really good decision it was. A lovely peaceful, well kept CL by the river in Cantley, If you are without transport there is a train station a short walk away which take you into Norwich or Great Yarmouth. Lovely riverside walk and a warm welcome in the adjoining pub The Reedcutter. We ate in there Saturday evening and also again this morning for breakfast, food is delicious, large portions and booking is a must. Highly recommend this site for a chillaxing time away.
Great little site by the river and pub. Interesting wildlife
This is a great site. Stunning scenery next to the river. Big spectacular skies. The site has 5 large pitches all marked off most with electric hookup. Fresh water available , toilet and waste water disposal. Pitches are grass but we were quite firm in early October might be an issue for large vans in mid winter. Pub was friendly with traditional pub grub. Cantley train station was 2 minutes walk which then open up your options for easy town visits trains mostly every hour. Eg Norwich was 15 minutes on the train. Great walks along the river both ways. Yes there is a Factory nearby but it was no problem noise wise and you can hear trains but not much and not at night. We saw Otters in the river and Roe deer from the site. A great 3 night visit.
Lovely place by the river
Upon arrival I was given pitch number. Few of the pitches are un even.
Went into pub every day as they have a very good pool table and my boys love playing. Staff are very friendly and so are the locals. You couldn’t get any closer to the river.
We have kayaks so was ideal for us.
The only problem we had was they when a train goes through every time it sounds it’s horn from 6am to 11pm and did start to affect my husbands sleep. Also you are right next to the sugar factory and when they are working you can hear all the machinery or workman, even before 8am and after 11pm which I don’t think is legal.
If you are not bothered by noise I recommend this place but if you want peace and quiet you won’t get it here.
Very disappointed
Arrived after a long journey to find a very small site with 4 massive motor homes in situ taking up all 5 pitches, the space left for us nearest to EHU wasn't big enough for our car let alone our 2 berth caravan. Unfortunately we didn't get much help from the owner, who said he couldn't ask the motorhomes to move up to make space. Our options were to pitch up on the rough ground at the entrance to the site with 2 electric cables trailing across the site access and entire width of the area, or set up in his pub car park!! Both options the ground was too hard to put up our awning, we had booked 9 days here! Needless to say we didn't stay.
Brilliant
What an amazing little Gem,couldn't want for more the owners steve and lynn couldn't be more welcoming or helpful, and if you visit don't miss the amazing food in the pub

Perfect escape
We arrived early evening Friday in the pitch darkness, fortunately, we had googled the entrance and found the site easily as right next door to the sugar beet factory.
We had a warm welcome and plugged motorhome into electric turned on the heating and adjourned to the pub for dinner and a few drinks.
Next day we walked the 150 yards to the station and spent a wonderful day in Norwich.
On Sunday we walked along part of the broads beside the site and then left to travel home.
Whilst this was just a weekend break it was so enjoyable we would not hesitate to revisit this site and explore the area more.
Thanks Lyn - It was great.
