Let down by owner

A beautiful kept site with hard standing good pitches, good entrance, good wifi. Unfortunately although it states in BOLD lettering on arrival that dogs must be kept on leads we were disapointed in that the owners exercise there own dogs off the lead, 2 came onto our pitch with 1 doing a poo in front of where we were sitting, although this was cleaned up by the lady owner there wasn't even an appology and there wete numerous flies then targeted this area, there is an area where they can exercise there dogs and set an example to other dog owners. We travel with our cat all the the time and we've come across this problem on other sites before when she was attacked by a loose dog. After this episode unfortunately and ashame we will not be returning.

Well kept site

We found the road noise at this site a problem, however we live in a very rural location and are used to no traffic noise! Good welcome from owner. Small site which has what appears 2 static pitches, as these were not numbered. This means you are quite close to your neighbours. Good facilities which includes WiFi which was appreciated. The bus service no longer runs through this village so our plans had to be amended. Good pub within an easy walk. Dogs have to be tied up at all times which is a shame as ours is very well behaved. Still people don’t pick up after there dogs, I picked up some poo left by another camper’s dog , just to show some responsible dog owners exist !

Lovely site and friendly welcome

Just off the main road but surprisingly little traffic noise. The field is well kept and flat and all hard standings. Lovely welcome from the owners and full explanation of how things worked etc. The shower and toilet is on the other side of the building but clean and modern. Also a decent wifi signal that worked in the field (not very common, even in places that claim to have wifi). Highly recommended.

Lovely little site

We loved this site. It did not disappoint. Mr and Mrs Steel, lovely friendly owners, are running B&B, so you can leave your dog in a boot and have lovely cooked breakfast.  Royal Yeoman B&B has lovely toilet and shower block just for us caravaners. Good standards throughout. Spacious pitches and looked after lawn. Cars kept separate in a parking space just aside of the building.  A little stream surrounds the 5 caravan field - nice. Traffic noise can be heard but it did not disturb our sleep. TV signal not found, but excellent  wifi signal and have plenty of DVDs instead.  I loved this holiday.

A great few days with friends

The site is easily accessible & is beautifully maintained.  At the time of our visit it was being looked after by some temporary managers while the owners were away for a couple ofmonths.  This meant there were no meals available or Internet.  Unfortunately the traffic noise spoilt this nice site as it was constant, also it is up for sale so don't know what will happen.  Also no TV reception.

A 1st class CL

We haven't been using CL's for long, but the rising prices of the Club sites have made us reconsider our options, and we are so glad we've done so. This site is one of the reasons we now hardly ever use the Club sites. Arrival at this site is so easy, it's accessed directly off the main road through wide (open!) double gates into the car park of the property. We were then directed into the site itself where we could choose our pitch. The owners were themselves on holiday, but a very pleasant young man who was acting as the manager introduced himself and gave us all the information we needed. The site itself is level but not entirely flat. We needed a wedge under a wheel and some levelling blocks to be flat.  The toilet facilities are behind the main building, and are excellent. It consists of a self contained toilet, shower and handbasin, all in a tiled walled and floored room, and kept spotlessly clean. The only downside was a bit of road noise, but the site is not directly adjacent to the road, and it didn't trouble us. There are loads, and loads of places of interest nearby. Within walking distance there is the Saxon Inn for food or a drink, but also only a short drive or easy cycle is the Greyhound Inn. Dorchester et al is within a couple of minutes drive. This is a superb site in a beautiful area, and I can't recommend it enough.

We highly rate this CL

A very warm welcome when we arrived and to see such a lovely area allocated for us to settle was only the first sign that this was going to be a fantastic holiday. It did not disappoint. WE booked a breakfast each morning at the house, fruit juice, cereal and a full english, all fresh and well presented. What a way to start the day. This CL is a great place to stay and use as a stepping stone to visit the surrounding area. Thank you for a wonderful  stay and making us feel so very welcome and we look forward to stained again very, very soon Robert & Maureen

Excellent site, ideally located.

Excellent CL, well maitained by very friendly and welcoming owners.  Having lived in Dorchester many years ago we knew all the places of interest and this site is ideally placed. Surprisingly quiet as you are only separated from a busy road by the car park, we did not experience any noise disturbance. Cannot comment on the toilet facilities as we used our own but other members there rated them as excellent. When we return to the area we would not hesitate in using this site again.

Perfect CL

Our first visit to a camp site, and it could not have been more perfect. Gary and Sue made us very welcome. They explained everything to us ( being newbees ) and even gave us great tips for our next visit to other sites. Will definitely be going back.

Royal yeoman

Spacious site with good facilities. Some of the pitches are a bit bumpy and worn but you can pitch any way you like. Excellent walking across the very busy main road along miles of good farm tracks. When we come again it will not be in August...... the traffic is too manic around the Dorchester bypass and indeed along most of the main roads. We left at 8 am on our last day to avoid the queues.
