Lovely CL with EHU & water. Owners very pleasant to deal with. Nice welcome, level pitch. Great walks directly from the site. Would recommend.

Lovely CL

Stayed here for a long weekend, check in was easy and quick and the owners were lovely and very helpful. Surrounded by beautiful horses and countryside. Nice dog walk and easy access to Tiptree, West Mersea and Maldon.

Lovely site

We stopped off for one night en route to Norfolk. Friendly welcome, excellent value and a very peaceful site. Beautiful horses in surrounding paddocks kept us entertained in the morning when they let them out their stables. Would definitely stop here again.

On our list!

A friendly welcome and then left to your holiday....perfect. Beautiful site, space, and loads to do in the surrounding areas. We generally have 5 or so go to sites. This one has made the list! You won't be disappointed.

Winter break .

This site is only 45 mins from home . As described it's a small holding horse riding centre . Its described as a 12 month site with hard standing and grass . The only hard standing is some gravel on the entrance to the CL , this is site is unsuitable for a 12 month s The loo waste was around 150 mtrs across 2 soggy fields. I am sure in the spring or summer it's fine.

Relaxing break.

We arrived Friday to beautiful weather and a warm welcome. Told where everything was and then left in peace to enjoy our surroundings. Local cycling on quiet roads, cycled to Tollesbury marina and had a lovely lunch looking out over the boats. Wonderful walk around salt marshes with some brilliant birdwatching available. RSPB centre also 5 minutes from The Stables but not signposted. Enjoyed watching the riding lessons in the menage which were not intrusive at all. Told there was no hurry off site monday. Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend!

This is the second time that we have used the site and will be returning soon. This is a very well run site good access down a quite road. The site is part of a stable, each time we have used the the riding stables has been in use. Th owners are very helpful and are very friendly. We are looking forwards to our next visit. Bryan

Great Local CL

Decided, at short notice, to give out Motorhome (Flo) a post Christmas outing somewhere local to us,last weekend, so tried The Stables. Friendly welcome on arrival, with lots of horse riding activity to watch.Really wanted hardstanding due to the wet weather, but the electric cable (even with an extension from Gerry) wouldn't reach. So, hesitantly decided to risk parking on the paddock. Did a 9 mile walk from the CL towards Tiptree, following part of the old Kelvedon to Tollesbury Railway line. Lunch at the Tiptree Jam Factory on the return part of the walk. (great toasted sandwiches). Nice pint towards the end of our (muddy) walk,in the Queen's Head near the site. Lovely quiet night's sleep and woke to see two ponies in the paddock behind us. Having packed up after breakfast, the dreaded thing happened...........we were stuck in the field with some wheel-spinning! Not a problem for the jovial Gerry, who simply got one of his tractors and towed us off, much to the amusement of the Sunday morning horse riding crowd! We'll definitely be back when the weather is better as it is a nice site in a lovely part of Essex (and we need to try the local Indian Restaurant!) Thanks again Gerry! Chris & Carolyn
