We have been to the Vine several times, it is our 'go to' venue for a short break. Wish there were more like this around. I'm sure the work is only temporary, you were just unlucky at that time. The work is mentioned on their Facebook page with an apology for disruption.

MarkhamsMorris 6 - Believe me every word Bradley71 said was absolutely true. It was horrendous until 8pm at night.  One day we came back at 6pm to find them working in a trench ON OUR PITCH. Groundwork’s were going on within a few feet with diggers making a LOT of noise.  Maybe the road noise is not noisy to others, but as I specifically asked about this it should have been obvious that I would find the road noisy.  Bradley71 made his review in July.  It is now September !!!  That’s not just an unlucky week is it ?  I booked months in advance and was told I could not choose a pitch, but they would try to accommodate any request.  So I said not pitch one and if possible 5 or 6.  Since then they started on line booking where you choose your pitch. They should have given preference to those who had booked earlier when showing availability.  We were just shoved in all that was left.  In my view pitch 1 should never have been booked out while all this work was going on, and the owner should have had the decency to tell us about the work and give us the option to book somewhere else.  We have never left a site early, but this time we couldn’t get out fast enough.  Lucky you to MarkhamsMorris 6 and the others who gave good reviews, but it wasn’t the same for us. If you are booking then ask outright if there will be building work going on. The CL is about to grow !
