Drinking water and toilet emptying a problem.

There is no notice board indicating where water etc is and you won’t find them without asking. The drinking water tap and toilet disposal point are in the outside smoking area of the pub. There are steps to negotiate the manhole cover is one side of the smoking area the non drinking water tap and drinking water tap the other side in front of the back door to the pub. If like me you feel unable to empty a toilet canister next to people sat at tables you’ll have to time it carefully. Rinsing the canister means going back and forth between the non drinking tap and the manhole cover past the tables. There’s no hose or drain under the non drinking tap it’s beside the drinking tap. Other reviewers mention a shower there is no shower available but it’s not listed under site facilities so we weren’t expecting one.

Nice relaxed site

Just had three nights, and most enjoyable. The other caravanners were very friendly and we pitched in the water meadow, which is just opposite the pub behind their car park, which although busy at the weekend was not at all noisy, The water meadow would be our preferred spot as there was another site behind the pub, smaller, but probably better if you need to use the loo and shower, or you will need to cross be it a quiet road. We had views across the cow field and the site was most relaxed, as they kind of leave you too it being being a busy pub/accomodation, but the facilities are easy to find and on the site. Popped in one night to get a jug of beer to take back, very friendly and welcoming behind the bar. next time we go we will by trying the food for sure. We found a good dog walk for the mornings, footpaths are limited as it a forces training area, but there are plenty more if you head up to Swaffham and the heath.

Very enjoyable stay

Enjoyed our stay so much stayed an extra night. The site is basic, electric & water & waste but  with rural views so good to wake up to. Next to a very  pleasant pub. Not a gastro pub but good old fashioned pub grub which don't cost an arm & a leg! Staff were so friendly & helpful. Wi Fi if you find the right spot! Near to NT property, Oxburgh Hall. We'll be going back.

Lovely cl

Had a really lovely stay. Busy pub but didn't affect our stay. Shower/toilet very clean and excellent value at £10.50 a night. Only a couple of niggles, the water/waste is at the side of the pub so little awkward when the pub is open as its on the smoking side of the pub down by the patio. The other little niggle is that to get on the paddock at the back of the pub you have to go through the car park which makes it a little awkward with a car and caravan especially if the car park is busy! Overall would definitely return. Staff extremely friendly.

Pleasant weekend

Overall a good weekend, the weather helped. Just a few things to mention-: can be a little noisy as it is a very busy pub, access to the water/waste point and Elsan emptying point is difficult and initially hard to find. The pub itself sells a variety of food at a reasonable price, though a little cramped inside. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Good pub site

Had a Friday to Sunday stay. Two fields - one opposite pub (behind trees) and one behind the pub garden and car park. We stayed in the Water Meadow beside a river. Easy to find, choice of spots to park up, all with electric. Didn't find the pub noisy at night. Had a lovely pub meal - lots of very friendly staff in a lively local. Immaculately clean. Enjoyed our quiet weekend away. (We are 40 somethings with kids we left at home!)

Good Food

This CL is situated at the rear of the pub behind the car park. The entrance is tight which we were warned about on booking but it was also very narrow. You have to navigate between the pub building and a building that is lodge style b & b rooms. The CL field is basic with EHU points around the edge, you can pitch anywhere. As you are at the rear of a pub some noise is to be expected as was the case here. The CL overlooks fields at the back and gardens to the side, The water points and elsan are at the rear of the pub building which does involve a bit of finding as they are between 2 buildings. The pub staff were friendly and the food was excellent. There are plenty of places to visit from this CL including NT Oxborough Hall, also Gooderstone Water Gardens. Swaffham a market town is about 4 miles away for all supplies.
