Working farm with great access to multiple Wainwrights

Throstle Hall is a working farm which obviously has been a CL for many years. The farming family made us feel welcome and we were left to our own devices. We were the only ones on site following a busy Covid hampered season. There are five pitches, all level hardstanding. The farm has free range hens and sheep and working dogs. Eggs a plenty. Walk to Caldbeck takes about 7 minutes and The Oddfellows Arms is highly recommended. Shop has milk, papers, bread etc. Plenty of access to Carrock Fell and lots of other Wainwrights. We didn’t find a shower and toilet but this was probably down to Covid. Don’t expect totally peaceful early mornings as it’s a working farm. TV reception excellent if that’s what you want. Highly recommended
