Great for the Northern North York Moors

Stayed on the site at the end of September having stayed at the adjacent site Abbey View the previous year. Access to all facilities required and whilst we did not use the local bus it was frequent (hourly) for a small village. The pitch was level and this was the first site we have been on where leveling blocks were not required. Lorraine was very efficient and the communal taps etc were disinfected on a daily basis by her. Yes we do need rules and I was put at ease to see at least Lorraine was taking the current COVID 19 situation seriously. We came to the site via Pickering and Sleights and departed on the A171 via Guisborough the latter being a better more caravan friendly route. Used an app on the phone to locate the transmitters, TV signal at the site is fine with two main transmitters to choose from however one is good for BBC whilst the other ITV and Channel 4 etc can't remember which was which sorry. We were there foe walking there is a great footpath down to Sleights from the village but it is somewhat steep and the return walk is better undertaken via the bridleway which passes adjacent to the St Oswalds community still steep but easier. We also parked at Littlebeck Village Hall and walked via the Coast to Coast path to Falling Foss returning via the Foss Lane bridle path and Intake Farm to Littlebeck. In short this is a good site to visit the Northern part of the North York Moors including the attractions of Whitby, Sandsend, Grosmont and Beck Hole but you will need to drive or catch a bus to most locations. Needless to say we will return to either this site or Abbey View in the future. Keep up the good work Lorraine and Frank
