Perfect paddock!

Just returned from 2 nights at Toplands - what a hidden gem! Ponies, foals, buzzards, kites, views & sunsets - what more can you want? and a brilliant pub 10 minutes walk down the hill! brilliant location with picture postcard villages just a couple of miles away (Biddestone, Castle Combe with Lacock not much further) just make sure you drive from Biddestone (not Ford!)

Ponies are very entertaining

Beautiful views over the surrounding hills and the Welsh ponies & their foals kept us entertained for hours. This is a stud farm and from what we saw more foals will be on their way. Big open field so plenty of room to spread out, we did need chocks to level. Our night was slightly overcast but you would get beautiful sunsets when clear. Facilities are good with a little herb patch to use if required. This was our first time without electricity so we could only stay 1 night but we will most definitely be back when we are better equipped.

Peace, perfect peace!

We’ve just returned from 3 absolutely peaceful and tranquil days at Toplands Farm. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Beautiful walk into Castle Combe, lovely food in The White Heart and a great Guinness at the Biddlestone Arms. We will most definitely be returning!

Awesome Site

An amazing location - views are stunning - site is well kept - great instructions given on how to locate the site by the owner on booking. Owners are welcoming. Great value for money will definitely be revisiting. A must for a truly relaxing break.

A little piece of the beautiful Cotswolds

I have just returned from 2 nights in what felt like someone's private garden. It was the best £20 I have spent for a while. I had the whole field, or should I say 'lawn' to myself but there is plenty of space for 4 other units. I didn't need chocks, but it may depend on where you decide to pitch up. Even though there was some torrential rain, the surface drained immediately and there was no risk of being stuck. The facilities were basic but excellent and covid secure. Many thanks to Betty and Sarah for providing a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.

Little Paradise

I have just spent a few days at this absolutely lovely site. I arrived after 5 days of rain worried that the field would be sodden, let me assure everyone that this is the most well drained field I have ever placed my tyres on! I loved it here: it's so peacfull, excellent value and a fantastic base for visiting the surrounding area; Castle Combe, Bath, Laycock but to name a few. The approach to the site is narrow and a little hard to find but we'll, well worth the effort. I will be returning and have put this amazing place on my list of favourite CLs 😍 What a pleasure to meet Betty and her son and daughter who as a family have created a little bit of paradise for us all to visit.

Should have been a quite and peaceful stay...

This is a great CL - well kept, beautiful area, welcoming owner etc. A basic site which is our preference. We stayed 1 night. Had a lovely walk to Castle Combe village. When we got back from our walk 2 caravans arrived with families and dogs running around, 1 of which parked quite close to use even though there was plenty of space around the site.. Their dogs were barking frequently until gone midnight and the people with them were constantly loudly calling the dogs but still let them run around the site barking. The site owners produce a leaflet asking that dogs be kept on a lead on site but it turns out these guests were family of the owners and the rules obviously didn't apply to them! It did spoil our visit and I would suggest to the owners that they don't take other bookings for the times they have family arriving if this is their normal pattern normal behavior.

Amazing…

An amazing CL, beautiful location and very clean and tidy. We were welcomed with a big smile :-)

Was lovely being able to choose your pitch and how to set up etc… We were soon set up and on our way down the hill to a local pub! Toplands has all you need - lovely field with horses and sheep next to the pitches, beautiful views, amazing sunsets… water, grey and toilet waste - all you need.

We had a very relaxing time and will certainly be back to explore the local area more. Please keep the site as it is - it’s just so peaceful and lovely to be back to basics x

Great Off-Grid Site

What a lovely Site. From the welcome we received to the views, walks and sunsets. You're able to pick your own pitch and orientation. We will definitely be back
