Lovely spot - great views

Really lovely site with great views and easy access to extremely beautiful surroundings. Super spot. The only minor point was that (unfortunately for us) it rained very hard just before and during our stay and the grass was very long. The site was wet and the car was slipping as we reversed in. The long grass did make it difficult filling the water and using the aquaroll etc as everything was so wet. There were also lots of nettles all around the water taps, electric points, etc. I did mention this to Caroline who said there was a reason that they were unable to cut the grass so I guess we were just a bit unlucky. Otherwise a lovely stay.

Lovely Cl .. give it a try

We stayed 2 nights at Totteridge farm nice and easy to find, informal pitches with electric and water. Fantastic views overs the fields and hills and very peaceful. I think you would really struggle to find a nicer better organised and well kept CL & the owners are very helpful. Definitely one to visit.

Owners couldn't be more helpful

We arrived last Tuesday for a 3 night camp. The forecast was for extreme temperatures. We had hoped for some shade.... We were booked to be off grid and our arrival instructions directed us to the secluded field at the bottom of the Camping Pod field. In normal circumstances we would have been thrilled with this lovely off grid peaceful location BUT there wasn't any shade to pitch in or to access nearby. Caroline had given us lots of arrival instructions which were clear and precise, ending with a please don't hesitate to phone if we needed anything on arrival. I rang and left a message asking if, given the extreme forecast, was there anywhere else we could camp with some shade... While we were waiting for her to get back to us we wandered around the site to see if we could see a suitable spot. It was fairly clear that shade was at a premium and not surprisingly those there before us had already made the most of what was available. We had decided we would just have to make the best of what ever shade we could by positioning our from our van and awning carefully. Then Caroline drove up with a raft of suggestions; they could lend a gazebo that her husband would come and put up for us or we could possibly camp in the woods...it was off grid but so peaceful. She then drove us down to the woods in her 4X4 so we could decide whether it was accessible for our van (sadly it was a little too 'off-road' for our relatively new VW T6...we baulked at the deep tyre ruts in track) although it looked a beautiful spot. On our way down to the woods Caroline had noticed a patch of shade next to the track that she said we were welcome to use instead. We had a lovely 3 nights camping in this 'impromptu' site with an amazing view...we even felt we possibly had the best pitch on the farm. Caroline couldn't have been more generous with her time and thought - especially given she was a very busy farmer's wife in the middle of harvesting. Thank you! We found the farm a great location to cycle along the Kennet and Avon Canal (minutes away by bike). With interesting destinations in both directions and plenty of pubs/cafes for food and drink...although these were less available travelling east... We would happily return to Totteridge Farm and recommend it whole heartedly.

Perfect location to introduce our nervous rescue dog to caravanning - a real gem of a site!

After taking in a very nervous and unpredictable rescue dog in November 2021, we were beginning to wonder if we'd ever be able to take her away caravanning with us, and kennels were not an option. We thought we'd go for a test run near to home and found the Totteridge Farm site using the "Adults Only" and "Dog Friendly" search criteria. The site can only be booked directly through contacting Caroline Wells who could not have been more helpful and understanding to our situation and offered us sole use of a field with power and water that sounded perfect for what we wanted. It was a short journey from home to the site and the directions to the pitch were spot on. We found the ""What Three Words" app to be particularly useful in helping to navigate to the site as using the postcode was not recommended. We met Caroline as we arrived and were welcomed and pointed to our pitch hook-up and water point in the corner of a recently mown field on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Power and water were the only facilities that we needed on the site and we were pleasantly surprised to find out we also had excellent mobile phone reception at the site which was useful for a trialling remote working whilst we were there. The field was ideal for us and our dogs with plenty of space to play on a long lead without distractions and our rescue soon settled down and realised that the caravan and awning were going to be her new temporary home. It wasn't long before she started to relax and enjoy the adventure. We stayed 2 nights and focused mainly on the dogs but did manage to get some walks in around the local area and to the local pub. We were made to feel hugely welcome by Caroline and Muttley and we felt more like house-guests than paying caravanners during our stay. An extremely peaceful and well-kept site that was a perfect location to conduct a trial run with our dogs. It was a success and we are now looking forward to going further afield in due course. However, we both decided that Totteridge is a site we'll definitely be going back to.

Absolute Gem

We have been coming to Totteridge Farm for a number of years now and both my wife and I absolutely love it. The welcome you get from Caroline and Muttley is fab. They are such a lovely couple. The views from the ouches are stunning, especially at this time of year as you sit and relax whilst looking across the sea of rape in full blossom. The blue sky above it gives you a sobering thought of a country in distress at the moment. There are some lovely pubs just a short walk or bike ride away. Marlborough is just down the road and makes a great day out. This place really is a little Gem and we will keep coming back. They keep the place in great condition and if you wanted something a little different, they also have Pods on the upper field for rent too which are fabulous. Definitely recommended!! Thanks guys

One of the best…..

We stayed at Totteridge Farm in mid September for three days, but wished we could stay for longer. The only stipulation for where you could pitch was ‘don’t block anyone's view' and when you arrived, you could see why. (There was plenty of room to achieve this). There were wonderful views towards the canal and railway line and over to Martinsell Hill (worth the walk from the car park for far reaching views). Caroline could not have been more pleasant or helpful and I fully understand why there are so many repeat bookings. Other reviewers have included lots of helpful information and suggestions. If you want a peaceful break in lovely countryside, try this wonderful place but leave a space for us to return!

Absolute Gem

Just returned from yet another brilliant stay at Totteridge Farm. The peace and quiet, the beauty of Wiltshire and the wild life is there for the taking. The site is well planned and Caroline and her family are always doing something to keep it just perfect and are there to give you advice on the area and where to go. We always come away, ( reluctantly ) really relaxed and looking forward to our next visit. To me, Totteridge Farm is everything a CL should be and more.

The best yet

We’re just leaving this absolute gem of a site having spent 4 nights here. We have used CL’s throughout the UK and this is undoubtedly the best we’ve stayed at yet. The pitch gives a huge amount of space for each unit, all with glorious views of the countryside. The chemical loo is very easy to use and well maintained which isn’t always the case! There are information folders to take back to your unit and return later. Access is along country lanes but these are manageable. The canal walks nearby are a delight, with pubs each way. We ate at the Royal Oak and the food was very good. Caroline was going to take us to the car park at Martinsell Hill but in the end we cycled to it and walked up… brilliant. If only all CL’s were as good as this one.

Worth a return visit

A lovely secluded field with plenty of space. We would like to return for a longer stay as only one night was available on this occasion.
