Great CL in a great location

This is a great “ no frills” CL in a lovely location. A great welcome from Helly on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for them, even trimming trees to give better access for our Motorhome!Dog walks in a couple of the fields. Loads of space between pitches and very sheltered. If you want peace and quiet in natural surroundings then this is the place.

Hi

Hi, we have stayed before but this is first time with new owners, fantastic, hard working family, that are looking to retain the peace and tranquility of the site with a few improvements, nothing was too much trouble for them and any requests made were dealt with within hours!! We felt that we arrived as visitors and left as family,, we wish them all the best for the future and hopefully, be back soon

Lovely secluded cl

Just returned from a week at this lovely secluded cl. Very pleasant stay, ideally situated for visits to the Lizard, Penzance, Kynance Cove and many other places. New owners doing a great job. Small covered area selling plants, eggs and jars of goodies with honesty box. Great little site well worth a visit, we will definitely be back.

Lovely basic CL

What a lovely little site. We enjoyed a 4 night stay in January in our 6.4m campervan. The hardstanding is the access track into the field and limited to one vehicle, in the winter do not stray off this in your vehicle as the ground can be very soft. The very helpful and friendly owners have a four wheel drive vehicle and track mats to assist if you have a problem. When we arrived our hosts had even laid out a cable to the electric hook up ready for us. Facilities are basic but adequate. Would happily return.

Beautiful location & excellent hosts, will be returning!

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Trevassack over Christmas and the New Year. The location is beautiful, even in winter. Surrounded by woods and fields full of wildlife. We heard the owls every night and a robin came to see us each breakfast time. There were also squirrels and pheasants. The hosts were excellent. Friendly informative and welcoming. Perfect for dogs who are made most welcome and not too far from anywhere in West Cornwall. We'll definitely be back despite the 7 hour journey to get there.

Great quiet site

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at trevassack where we had a great time. The site is so quiet and peaceful, the owners were friendly and accommodating. There are some amazing walks from the site on to the downs and the kids enjoyed playing in the wooded area. There is a great cafe over the road. The site owner sells her own veg that she grows The tomatoes we bought were the best I've ever had. We will definitely be returning to this site in the future

Wonderful CL Site

This was our second visit, staying for 3 weeks on the lovely peaceful CL site. The owners where great, friendly, helpful and informative. Great place with easy access to the fantastic coves and beaches on The Lizard. Access to the ‘Goonhilly Downs’ from the site, was good to have no light pollution and so so many stars on a night. The site has field for dogs, one was all fenced so was able to take off lead. Can’t forget lovely Beaver the dog and how well behaved he is. Looking forward to returning.

This is why everyone loves the Lizard peninsula.

We always holiday on CLs in our VW camper and Trevassack is easily our favourite CL in the UK. We have just returned from a week's stay at the end of May/beginning of June, our favourite time to visit the beautiful Lizard peninsula and take in the wildlife and nature on some breathtaking walks around the coast and further inland. You will need to be self contained when you visit this peaceful and secluded CL, although there is a toilet for guests, chemical disposal point and EHU on the pitches, all of which are nicely spaced out and sited on a level grassy meadow, with one hardstanding area. The meadow is regularly mown and beautifully kept and surrounded by woods and fields, most of which are accessible to guests. In spring we always look out for carpets of wild orchids both on the CL and across the lane on Goonhilly Downs- it's an easy walk to look at the radio telescopes at the Earth Station, passing ancient grave mounds on the way. Cisie and David are knowledgeable, friendly and experienced hosts with plenty of good advice about what to see and where to go and in the summer there is usually the opportunity to buy home made jam, fresh fruit and veg from Trevassack's own gardens. There are plenty of safe, secure dog walks from the site, which is important to those of us who holiday with our canine companions. For dog-friendly pub meals out I can recommend the Halzephron Inn at Gunwalloe (dog friendly beach) and the Ship Inn at Mawgan, both of which serve excellent food and are within a short drive of the CL. Roskilly's Farm at St Keverne is a popular venue for lunch, dinner and ice cream and welcomes dogs in its courtyard and on its farm walks. We have been visiting the Lizard peninsula for forty years now, and Trevassack really encapsulates everything we love about this part of Cornwall.

OK, but not the best

The site is untidy. The owners dog has free access around the site so ended up clearing up it's poo each day (following standing in poo on day 1). Wi-fi is none existent, phone signal also poor. Couldn't wait to leave unfortunately.

Comment from the Club

The CL owner has been in touch as she is really concerned to learn that you did not enjoy your stay and thought the site untidy. For many years, and for however long it takes the wild flowers to set their seed, they have not mown around the site edges or under the oak trees. This year they initially thought they would go one step further and try no-mow May across the whole site. After two weeks they abandoned that idea as the grass was obviously going to get far too long and they ended up mowing twice that month rather than the usual 7-10 days. They are very upset to read that their dog which they inherited 6 years ago apparently acted out of character. They wish you had spoken to them as they could have resolved the issue. Beaver has always ranged freely across their property. The owner has spoken to all 12 visitors since your review was posted to date and no-one they are thankful to say reported any problem. That is not to say that a dog never gets caught short. If it happens on site they have advised they will be on to it like a rash like any good dog owner. They just need to know and they will get this cleared up immediately.
