A super CL

We really liked everything about this site. The access was really easy and the road was fairly quiet and the light traffic noise didn’t bother us at all. The hard standing pitches, which were really level, had plenty of grass on either side and it was well kept. The recycling/bin area was clean and tidy, the electric had good amps and the outlook pleasant. It was in a great situation for us, so we could get to all the places we wanted to visit. If we come to north Devon again, we will certainly return to Trevose Meadow.

Lovely stay

Stayed 10 days over Jubilee week we were able to visit lots of places from this site not just local Bude which is stunning we also went to Barnstable, Exeter and Launceston. We read previous reviews which made us concerned re road noise and yes you can hear the road but quiet at night. It certainly did not bother us. The dog field was a little disappointing as only a small area was cut and we were unable to throw a ball in the field. However it was quiet on the site so our dog was exercised on site which we wouldn't normally do. Overall we had a lovely stay pitches are of a good size with plenty of room to have awning car and still room to sit out and have BBQ ect.

Satisfactory CL

Easy access to get here and in the site. Didn’t see the owners but that’s ok we didn’t need to. Not a pretty CL. The road is noisy. Although there is a dog field on site, it’s not good for walking from the site you need to use the car. Bude is close by and great for summerleaze beach and sea pool. Great cliff walks . Boscastle and Tintagel great places to visit . Wide mouth is a nice Sandy beach and good coastal walking

Highly recommended

We've just finished a 26 night stay and couldn't have been happier with this site. Sue, the owner, went to great lengths to help us out at very short notice even though it was a very busy time of the year. The pitches are huge with plenty of room for every type of unit. In fact we've never had so much space anywhere else we've stayed! Access is great with a wide gate that adds to the feeling of this being a safe site for children and dogs. The dog field is excellent. Secure and right next to our pitch, our dogs made themselves at home and made full use of their new 'garden'. It's a ten minute drive to Bude and an ideal spot for exploring the North Devon/Cornwall coast. Having lived in the area for 10 years we're going to be frequent visitors to our old home town and we will happily choose Trevose Meadow for our future trips.

What a little gems in the Cornish countryside

This is what all CL sites should be like and a credit to the owner. We were made extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble, THANK YOU SUE. The hardstanding pitches are serviced with electric, fresh water is close by the pitches and the chemical disposal is on the edge of the dog field. Each pitch is surrounded by large grass areas with plenty of room for your awning, tow vehicle, tables, chairs and loungers etc should you require it. The site is situated on the outskirts of the hamlet of Grimscott with easy access off the B3274. Directly across the road from the site there is a well equipped childrens playpark. There is a large field on site set aside for dog exercising and just down the road there is a small country/woodland area ideal for a dog walk which when we visited was full of bluebells. The site is ideal for those wishing to explore the South West Coast Path or the beaches around Bude and other places like Clovelly, Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Issac to name a few. We enjoyed our 15 nights stay so much we are booked for another 11 nights in 3 weeks time.

cornwall stay

Having just spent ten days here, I can only say that I did not find that I had had a restful holiday. Sitting here at home we are lucky to live in such a nice place with no traffic noise, the first vehicles would race through at 4.45 each morning, and this would continue through out the day. However this is a good base to travel from to Bude and surrounding areas, we especially liked to go to the Tamar Lakes and walks along the canal, we also had a good evening meal in one of the pubs in Kirkhampton (you need to book) . I like to walk a lot, but from the site there seems to be only one walk available, which took me to Churchtown, but it was not sign posted from the road so you need to consult a map or an app. We ordered some Cornish pasties from the owner which were very nice. On the positive side the access to the site is good and there is a double gate which adds some security, and each large pitch has a hard standing.

Safe for young children

We wanted a CL with a gate to contain a special grandson. This site was great! We wanted a way to keep young children happy while onsite. There was a public playground just opposite across the road. Excellent! We went every day and were often the only people there. There was good grass for our pup tent. Good clean facilities. Welcoming hosts.

Ticked All Our Boxes

We chose this site to use as a base whilst walking the South West Coastal Path. Easy access from the road into the site where the pitches are level and well spaced out. The hard standings are long and narrow so any awnings would be on the grass. Adjacent meadow available to let the dogs have a good run round in - this was important as there is very limited walking directly from the site (found a bridleway at the opposite end of the village which was OK but not after heavy rainfall). There is a play park directly across the road from the site which may be useful if you have small children. Some road noise at rush hour but not intrusive - watch the road though as many drivers have a total disregard for the 30mph limit!! Great communication with the owner who was really friendly and worked hard to keep the site clean in line with Covid-19 guidelines. Would definitely return if in the area. Recommended.

Great to unwind!

We enjoyed a night away in our motorhome and received a warm welcome from Sue who is a motorhomer herself. The site is clean, tidy and well laid out. Our pitch was level so we didn’t need ramps. Directions are clear and access is easy from the B3254. We didn’t take our dogs this time but there is an enclosed field immediately next to the CL. There’s a play area the other side of the road for anyone who has children with them. It was lovely to meet you Sue.

Great site and location for touring North Cornwall

Stayed just the one night, made to feel very welcome. Hard standings for all pitches with cut grass in between. Ease of access to Bude to discover the history of it's canal and harbour, only 10 minutes away. Widemouth Bay, a further 5 minutes on from Bude visit for the scenery and rock formations on the beach. Separate field area for dog exercise, we will be returning for a longer stay.
