Fabulous, peaceful stay

Yet another fabulous stay at this site. Owners very responsive via phone and text. Paid in advance via bank transfer and pitch number noted on the invoice. Easy access to the site, with large pitch sizes for our twin axle, Site clean and tidy, with electric hook up, water, chemical waste and recycling and general waste bins.Views are spectacular and apart from a little noise from farm machinary early morning (it is a working farm), it was so peaceful. No road noise. 6 mins by car to Kelso for takeaways and restaurants. Would highly recommend this CL site

A lovely week

An immaculately presented grassy, sloping CL, with crushed gravel entrance road and hardstandings. Leveling blocks may be required on some pitches, but we didn't bother on pitch one. Plenty of space on and between the pitches, and having only 5 means there is no temptation to squeeze in 'extra' vans, which there have been on almost every CL on our tour. Water and waste disposal at the top of the field, but only a short walk. We had already paid by bank transfer and given the pitch number, but the friendly owner did come round several times during our stay. The only slight negative is the farm machinery business in the adjacent field but the sounds during the day were not intrusive, lost in the background. We would certainly stay here again.

Good for an autumn break

As per previous reviewers, after booking by email and paying by bank transfer, we had no contact with the owners, but as everything is straightforward and you get an information sheet about the site, that's not a problem. The site, about 3miles from Kelso, has hedges/planting on 3 sides with a lovely open aspect to the South. It's a fair way back from and below the B road it's situated on, so road noise was minimal. The hardstanding pitches are a generous size: most are likely to need levelling blocks for motorhomes, but again that's not a problem. The fresh water taps are a little way off the roadway so motorhomers would need a longish hose or an Aquaroll. Good recycling facilities. We had 2 great bike rides on quiet roads: to Smailholm, Mellerstain and Hume (about 24miles) on one day and to Flodden and Kirk Yetholm (37miles) the second day. Wonderful autumn colours and great views. Highly recommended!

Good all weather site for motorhomes

We only had phone contact with the CL's owners but that didn't adversely affect our one night stay as it was self evident where to find everything. The pitches were slightly sloping but there were excellent views over surrounding countryside. Very convenient for visiting Kelso and Jedburgh. We were able to use the loos in the adjacent leisure centre where payments for the CL can be left but this is not guaranteed access so should not be assumed. An good spot for a one night stay.

Well kept and tidy site

We stayed here for 5 nights over Easter 2017, could not find anyone on arrival so pitched ourselves as there were no other units on site. The site has quite a slope, but don't be put off as the hard standings are terraced, although not completely level, you will still need levelling blocks. The pitches are enclosed by tall, well trimmed conifer hedges which offer some protection if windy, but the hedge to the south is lower offering good views. The grass was well trimmed and site neat and tidy. It is described as a working farm, actually the farm building's have all been converted to other uses, including a gym and squash courts. Adjacent is an agricultural engineering workshop and sales, which can be noisy through the working hours but it didn't bother us. A good location for touring the Northumberland/Scottish borders with undulating landscapes and the Cheviot range not too far away. At the end of our stay, we had still not seen anyone, so phoned the owner prior to departure, whom we then found out lived in one of the new houses in a small development adjacent to the farm. No doubt we will use this CL again when in the area.

Easy Quiet Site, Would Revisit

The site has five hardstanding large pitches and is well kept. Nice and tidy. Easy access and easy to pitch. The owner was pleasant and very welcoming. As the site is a couple of miles outside Kelso and we were in a motorhome, we did the food shop before pitching as there aren't any shops in walking distance (not that we knew of). For car and caravan then its really easy to visit all the local attractions by car. Would also be a great stop over if travelling from South to Scotland. We will certainly use the site again if in the area.
