Good for an autumn break
As per previous reviewers, after booking by email and paying by bank transfer, we had no contact with the owners, but as everything is straightforward and you get an information sheet about the site, that's not a problem.
The site, about 3miles from Kelso, has hedges/planting on 3 sides with a lovely open aspect to the South. It's a fair way back from and below the B road it's situated on, so road noise was minimal. The hardstanding pitches are a generous size: most are likely to need levelling blocks for motorhomes, but again that's not a problem. The fresh water taps are a little way off the roadway so motorhomers would need a longish hose or an Aquaroll. Good recycling facilities.
We had 2 great bike rides on quiet roads: to Smailholm, Mellerstain and Hume (about 24miles) on one day and to Flodden and Kirk Yetholm (37miles) the second day. Wonderful autumn colours and great views.
Highly recommended!
