Peace & Quiet

A pleasant CL, conveniently situated for accessing the river Wye and Symonds Yat. The half mile lane up from the village is a little narrow if you should be unfortunate enough to meet a tractor or combine although there are a couple of gateways where you can squeeze by. The turn into the farm might be a bit tight for long/double axle vans. Superb views over surrounding countryside. Excellent 4G signal from mast about 600 metres away which dwindles to almost nothing down by the river.

peaceful setting

Just returned from three days at this CL Beautiful setting above the Wye valley. Level pitch in the corner but other parts were sloping. Fine stay. Lovely walks. Visited Goodrich castle , just down the road, very impressive. Plenty to see locally Indian restaurant at the bottom of the hill together with General Store. Will return.

Perfect

A quiet field with beautiful views is the ideal CL in our book. Located close to amenities, lots of places to visit and outdoor activities, Tump Farm really is a gem. As a bonus for us it's only an hour from home, so we expect to become regular visitors for both short weekends and longer breaks. Gillian the owner is the perfect host and we couldn't have wished for a better, more relaxing site for the bank holiday weekend. There is also a holiday cottage, which we plan to make use of for friends/family who may occasionally join us. Catering is made easy thanks to the proximity of Woods shop and cafe, which does excellent quality fish and chips on Friday nights and stocks a wide range goodies and essentials. The access road is narrow and during our visit had to be taken very slowly to avoid contact with the hedges. We're already looking forward to returning.

Amazing views, convenient for nearby attractions

Views from the site are amazing, looking over the Wye Valley towards Symonds Yat, with views of the Black Mountains to the side and, I think, The Malverns in the far distance. Very convenient for local places of interest, such as Wye Valley, Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth, Abergavenny, Black Mountains/becon Beacons, Forest of Dean. A very quiet and tranquil site. No problems with access/hedges (as mentioned in an earlier review) when we visited

Pleasant surprise

After reading a review about the site due to overgrown trees on driveway. Driveway clear with ample room either side of caravan. Very peaceful and great views of the Wye valley.

Stunning views

The site is up a long hill from the Wye River with superb views across the valley (although you cannot actually see the river). The site is surrounded by paddocks with horses. The owners were very friendly. We will return!

PERFECTION FOR US (April 2013)

The site and surrounding area was all that we had hoped for, quiet well kept, and in my opinion more than suitable for 5 vans. The views from the site are exeptional enhanced by uninturupted sunshine from Dawn to Dusk. The site is an Equestrian farm so you are surrounded by horses in the various paddocks. One word of caution the site is on a hillside and the field has a gentle slope so don't forget your chocks.

Brilliant Views

Amazing views across the Wye Valley towards Symonds Yat Rock. I chose the site as I'm a novice and wanted a site near to a main route but being as it was only half a mile from the A40 expected some road noise. I needn't have worried! We got out of the car and perfect quiet apart from the twittering of the swallows as they zoomed around us. Strangely we did hear the traffic at night but only as a background hum and not a problem. Only negative is that site is actually closer to a half acre and not the 1 acre described so a little tight with 5 vans .. but we will be back!
