Rustic but nice

Nice if you like rustic and quiet site. Good for 3 hard standing and wide open field after that, plenty of electric hook-ups.Two toilets and showers all clean, just rustic. A working farm, but the filed itself is not famed. Rustic and rural to sum it up.

Damaged Awning

Whilst staying at this CL last week, we had damage done to our awning by what we assume was an animal on the farm (badger, dog or fox, who knows!) It happend during the day while we were out. There was also another visitor who had their awning damaged in a similar way 2 days previous. Any future visitors please be aware. We have stayed here many times, never experienced anything like it before.

Narrow enterance

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst on our way to Newquay. Getting to the CL was not a good start, we ended up coming in from the wrong way and went down a VERY narrow lane with no passing places. We had to unhitch the caravan to get it around one of the corners!!!!!! Not good - we thought the owner should have put a sign up before the start of the lane saying not to enter with caravans. Even if you come in from the other way you still have to go up a narrow entrance. The CL is in a big field and the section for you to pitch up in had the grass cut. The scenery was great apart from the farm which had machinery sat out. The showers/toilets were OK but did need updating - the showers were 20p. We wouldn't stay here again but some people may find it better than we did

Very poor access

Do not follow sat nav, once on the A361 from Barnstable follow handbook directions. Even so the entrance is poorly signed and is very tight with a sharp bend half way. As you drive onto the site you realise this is a working farm with machinery left in the cl field and mud everywhere. The grass is kept short in the cl area but the field is large and the rest is probably cut twice a year. The welcome was friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower block need updating and cleaning.

Site is on a working Farm, facilities basic. Unfortunately whilst we were there one of their farm dogs attacked a neighbouring caravaners dog resulting in a £500 vet Bill which has put us off returning again as we also have a dog.

Stayed for 2 weeks and found the lady owner of the site lovely, helpful and friendly. Great for the dogs we took, lots of space to exercise. Never heard the wind turbine once while we were there. Field drains well after heavy rain. Excellent position of site close to Ilfracombe, Woolacombe. Toilet and shower block could do with TLC but most caravans have got there own facilities these days. Will be returning another year.

Good farm C/L

This typical working farm is set in nice Devon surroundings. It is fairly flat and has three hard standings. Caravan entrance markings could be better posted. The owners do operate an "overflow field" so be prepared to share the facilities with the occupants of more than 5 units and large families. We had no problems with noise from the nearby wind turbine. The two shower/toilet rooms are "adequate" but as previously stated could with upgrading (and better cleaning ) plus during our stay were often left in a pretty disgusting state by other users. ( boys will be boys ) The nearby bus service is fantastic with three buses per hour running in each direction between Ilfracombe & Barnstaple and great connections at each terminus.

Site fairly flat. Small toilet shower block onsite could do with updating. Only real downside there is a large wind turbine about 500 metres away which was more noticeable at night with a constant whoosh whoosh sound with the slightest of breeze would be ok for heavy sleepers.
