Nice site, but.......

This site is approx 0.50 miles from the main road. It has 3 water taps & 3 double socket EHU bollards around the site with waste bins and a chemical toilet empty with a water tap for rinsing. There are 6 pitches which have EHU and an extra 3 pitches that have no hook up facilities along the hedge adjacent to the entrance. As the site approach road is narrow in places and has no passing places, some care is required. This site is approx 1.0 acre, all grass/lawn pitches (some small levelling blocks were needed though) they are well spaced out, each pitch has EHU point. Waste bins are located just off the field as is the chemical empty point. The site does not have any dog exercising facilities but a public footpath runs through the site so this could be used as well as the lanes. The site is adjacent to a road, which is the sole use for the farm and the farm further down the road, but this did not cause us any concerns. The owner who was very nice, and told us we could site on any of the vacant pitches met us, on arrival. The pitch we first chose had full sun all day. Unfortunately, due to the constant barking of about 7 dogs from the moment we arrived we decided to move further down the field, well away from them. We could still hear them barking, but the distance muffled the noise, this continued until about 7pm, but did not last long and continued through the night. It is a pity the owners are not more thoughtful towards their paying visitors. Peacocks/hens roam freely on site and are not bothered where they walk, on top of cars (ours in particular) or the trees around the field. It was entertaining though to watch 7 of them gather around the tree between pitches 3 & 4 (so beware if you pitch on 3 or 4) ready to fly into it for their nights rest, this was about 7.30pm each night. One did miscalculate her departure from the tree one morning as she hit our caravan roof and awning, fortunately I did not see any damage. It is a pity, but we will not be returning and would certainly not recommend this site for the sole reason of the dogs.
