A friendly welcome by the owner. She recommended the local Tai Restaurant which was very good. Convenient to visit the Falkirk wheel, Kelpies, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Very highly recommended this gem of a site, not to be missed
This site is an absolute gem being very close to the towpath of the Forth & Clyde canal which enables walking or cycling from the site. You are assured of a warm welcome from the owner who kindly provides a useful guide to local facilities and is happy to advise on other local areas of interest.
All pitches are spacious, hard standing and level with dedicated water tap and electric.
The 5 pitches are clearly numbered 1-5 and the site owner operates a pre-booked pitch system which should be courteously respected, a change may only be possible depending on the site owners other bookings.
The site is convenient for visiting the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies with easy links to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Access is off the A803 as the postcode may put you on the other side of the canal and the lane although narrow is easily negotiated with due care.

Booked on this site for 2 nights as a stopover. Ended staying 2 weeks due car breakdown.
Helen and Sandy couldn't have been more helpful in making my stay welcoming.
Quiet yet convenient for local attractions, falkirk wheel and the kelpies. well laid out and
spacious. Thank you again for all the help.

Fantastic Stay
We have just been at this site for 6 nights. It’s been a fantastic stay from Helen greeting us and offering us lots of information to when we left. The site has been our base to visit Glasgow, Edinburgh, The Kelpies, The Falkirk Wheel, Loch Lomond - Luss & Balloch, Linlithgow and Stirling. So it doesn’t just need to be a stop over site. The site itself has been peaceful, very minimal road noise and lovely to be able to walk along the canal (1 minute away) with the dogs. The site is very clean all layed out well and the added bonus of your own water. Can I say if you tow a caravan the small bridge on the entrance road is not a problem. Both sides have a nice swing with plenty of room.
Overall a nice well cared for site.
Well kept site with all hard standings with water & electrics on each pitch. The site is by the Forth & Clyde canal so walking to the Falkirk wheel is a bonus. The site is well located to break your journey north. We stayed a week on the way north & another week on the way back.
Not so good points: The approach can be tricky at the bridge which is askew, we took our time with the wife watching the back & we made it without incident. To be fair once used to it its not so much of a hassle.
There is some road noise from the road the other side of the canal but not too intrusive.
The water pressure seemed too high? I connected direct to the water with the proper blue hose to aquaroll & ballcock. After a couple of hours the pipe burst, i thought at first the pipe was faulty but 2 others suffered the same fate. I would presume a water pressure regulator could be fitted?
Although we didn't have an issue some folk did. You need to take care entering the site through the gates. There is concrete then you are onto stones. Many people were losing grip on the stones. A remedy would be to extend the concrete?

Hope to visit again when in the area.
I stopped here for 3 nights to visit the Falkirk Wheel and break the journey up to the Highlands as very conveniently located for the motorway but really could have stayed longer.Good level hardstandings and facilities very well arranged. The canal runs just above the site so good walks for the dogs ( but watch out for speeding cyclists) and short walk to the Wheel. I had a slight issue as I hadn't realised pitches were pre allocated so had to move but Helen, the owner was very apologetic and all pitches are good anyway. As previous reviews have mentioned there is a narrow bridge on the approach but just take your time and it is fine.
.
Second visit and not the last!
First stop on our Six week tour of Scotland, need to break the journey. Just a few mins off motorway.Stayed here last year, whilst care needs to be taken to access the site, its perfectly doable. Lovely clean tidy site, good hard standing , spacious, and water tap on each pitch. Welcoming owners. Great for dogs as the canal path is just behind site. If you are up to it you can walk or cycle to The Falkirk Wheel 3.5 miles. Quite a bit further to the Kelpies . They are both only a short drive away . Well worth seeing, the Kelpies at night are stunning. We visited both last year. Lots of supermarkets and eateries a short drive away. A really good site, for many reasons. Underwood CL
Lovely quiet few days
We had a lovely five night stay at this site. Welcomed by the owner, site is clean and very well kept with a little information hut of leaflets for things to do in the surrounding area. Great to have towpath walk just up from the site for the dogs. Close for visiting the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, our main reason for visit to this area. Read information regarding approach to site or you might get caught out with the tight bridge.
Lovely CL
Great site - the (almost) perfect CL. Lots to like about this site and very little to dislike. Great for cyclists or kayakers.
The site is very well kept and all the pitches are hardstanding and each pitch has its own tap. You may need blocks and ramps on some pitches but its not a major problem.
If you can book a canal side pitch as you will get views over to Longcroft.
Site is very peaceful although there is a smidgen of noise from the road the other side of the canal but its not particularly noticeable.
Bonnybridge shops are about a 20 min walk along the tarmaced towpath. Kelpies and Falkirk wheel can both be accessed from the towpath if you have bicycles (no need to go on a road) or fancy a walk.
Rough castle is definitely worth a visit. You can cycle or walk from the Falkirk wheel to Rough castle via a new (but stoney) footpath (the path is signposted or just follow John Muir way signs).
Can't say what tv reception was like as I didn't try it.
There is a very good Chinese take-away in Longcroft which I wished I had visited but didn't get a chance (owner will give you the details).
Be careful with the postcode and sat navs. Google directions were fine but my in-car sat nav took me to the wrong side of the canal so double check before you get near.
I would definitly look at the approach road on google street view (because the road is little used its easy to think you have gone the wrong way). On the approach road. there is a nasty bend at the bridge but there was a large two wheeled caravan on site so it must be possible to get over even with large caravans if you are careful.
The site has large double gates which you open when you get there which does give it a feeling of privacy and security.
Its a nice site which is only a mile or so from the motorway so it is a great stopover point for those heading North or South or for a longer stay if you want to explore Falkirk, Edinburgh, Stirling or Glasgow.
I hope to stay again in the future.

Peaceful CL
We spent 3 nights at this very peaceful cl in June in our motorhome. As mentioned in other reviews, the lane approaching is a little tight but not a real problem. We took advantage of the lovely weather (sunny and hot) and cycled along the towpath to the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies - both well worth a visit. Glasgow is very doable by bus (stop at the end of the lane on the main road). The chinese restaurant is a walkable distance and is excellent value for money. Helen is a very welcoming host and the site is well looked after. The location is ideal for both exploring the area and as a stop off if travelling further north into Scotland.
