The location is the the only good thing about this site

We were not impressed by this site at all. Like the previous reviewer's experience the site was overcrowded and it is clear this is a regular occurrence. When we arrived on Thursday there were already 6 units on the site and we set up on a well-worn pitch that had clearly been vacated that morning. I think there were five electric hook-up points each with two connections! The field is NOT 1 acre as stated in the listing, it is smaller so the caravans are nearly as close as they would be on a large campsite, which completely misses the point of a CL. One unit is clearly kept there and the owners of it come and go as they please, which I didn't think was allowed on a CL. The grass had not been cut for several weeks (it was eventually cut on the day we left), and all the facilities are very tired. Yes, there are toilets and a shower but they are old (although clean) and there is no handwash basin in the toilets, only in the shower which one has to go outside and in another door to access. The driveway is full of potholes and the hedges need cutting - maybe then one could see if there is a view, at the moment one can only see the hedges. The owner was very nice but clearly doesn't have time to run it properly: she told us she is a deputy head and has taken on a pub in a nearby village (presumably with her husband but we never saw him), as well as running the CL. Time, effort and a change of attitude is needed on this site to make it worthy of being a Caravan Club CL. The only good points are the location with access to the local area for walking, cycling and places of interest. Would we stay here again? No, definitely not.
