HappyWe love these 'off grid' sites, wish that there was more of them. Found the site easy enough following the directions given, not clear which field it was once we got there, it turned out to be the one full of sheep at the time. The sheep cleared off as we set the caravan up, a lot of droppings all over the field, something to bear in mind if you are bringing children and dogs. The farmer who owns the site does not live in the farmhouse at the top of the hill, it is rented by someone else. It felt a bit intrusive going there for water, quite a hike from the site or having to use the car, so we opted to fill the aqua rolls from the burn and used cheap bottled water for cleaning teeth etc. We were lucky with the weather which was fantastic! Dogs at the farm barked at all hours of the day and night, not as quiet as we would have liked because of this, but really this was the only down side. Saw red kites most days, saw one having a tussle with a crow, not sure who won, both flew off in different directions. Heard a cuckoo. Dog chased a deer. I would definitely return.
