We needed a stopover for the night as we were heading further west, came off the M3 at junction 7 found the site, had the code for the gate, set up for the night, water on site, we were the only people there was so quite, we would use this site again as its perfect for the A303 to the west.
A fantastic setting
“This is in a fantastic setting, a massive area of parkland, probably the most attractive site we have ever stayed on. Plenty of room, about a 100m track which is ideal to park on if ground is soft. Owner cautious to ensure only caravan club members admitted before giving out code for gate. Facilities good for a cl.
Easy access from M3, but this is also the only downside, there is constant noise from the motorway, but being constant we soon ignored, the setting more than compensate.”
Acres of beautiful unspoilt land
Beautiful peaceful place very slight noise from an A road. Will return
Well placed stop over site
A very nice Park Land setting, no amenity site.
It is grass with plenty of flat areas and has a firm gravel track that is long enough for a motorhome to exploit if on short stay for hardstanding whatever time of the year.
The strength and weakness of the site is its proximity to the M3. The strenght is making it an ideal near zero mileage diversional location for a night stop in transit to and from the south and the port. This is achieved by slipping off /on the M3 at Junction 7 and 9 and running parallel to the M3 on the A33, much of which is dual carriageway and quiet. Site access is IMO easy even with a 8 meter caravan.
The weakness is an unavoidable background noise from the M3, but we were there when there was no tree leaf cover and even so slept very well. I will have no hesitation in using it again.
Contacting owner is essential to gain the combination lock access code. He pops down for the modest fee charged.
