A handily placed full serviced CL

A well placed CL just 10 minute walk from the Quay at Blakeney and just 5 minutes to regular Coasthopper bus service. The CL is set on the owners land on a hill above the village so isn't quite flat but flat enough to site without blocks. It is all grass pitches which are fully serviced. We found the water pressure a little high. Elsan and recycle bins found by entrance. Their is no information hut. Pitches are allocated. The pitches are well spaced out. Booking was straightforward but we had no personal contact during our week long stay. For anyone who has not visited the area I would recommend following the owners directions. Do not attempt access along the coast road from either direction as there are bottlenecks in Cley and Stiffkey, from east and west. The CL is a dog free CL. There is a well equipped Spar shop in the village and 2 good pubs and 2 good hotels for dining. There is also fine dining to be had at Morston Hall. The coast itself is brilliant for walks and nature. At £25 pn we found it acceptable due to it being fully serviced and especially the location.

My favourite CL

Fantastic in every way Wonderful location five minutes walk to supermarket pubs restaurants and the sea front at Blakney Easy access each pitch has EHU water and grey waste. You’re right on the North Norfolk coast where there’s lots to do. The site doesn’t take dogs so you’re not pestered by barking and yapping dogs a peaceful haven

Great location, small site. EHU. Waste disposal. Limited contact with owners but no issues. We would come again.

Nice site in a lovely setting

Our arrival didn't get off to the best start. There's a note on the gate saying to phone Serena if not been notified of your pitch number, so I did this. We were told to go on pitch 1, but the previous occupant was only just taking down their awning having overstayed in order to spend the morning at the Blakeney Carnival. This resulted in confusion as to whether these people had actually booked another night, but then they came to us when we were halfway through erecting our awning having set up on vacant pitch 3 (not as nice a pitch) to say they were leaving after all! Serina was preoccupied with her daughter starting university so we never got to meet her, but John was very helpful throughout our fortnight, but no-one came down to the CL to deal with the initial confusion, I guess they were out. The site itself is fairly basic and open but having a separate tap and grey waste drainage for each pitch was great. As it's a new CL not everything is as you would hope for at £22 pn, but in time no doubt features such as screening for the CDP will be put in. Also, I wouldn't like to be on pitch 5 due to its proximity to the bridleway with lots of walkers passing close by, and so I would suggest bringing pitch 6 at the far end into use instead, and putting some screening where pitch 5 is now. An information shed could usefully be put there. All that said, the views from the CL are spectacular and we really enjoyed our stay. Being so close to the village is great, and as bus pass holders we scarcely used our car. The crab shack on the main road towards the church does excellent oysters at a reasonable price (unlike the shack on the front, nearly double). The fish shop by the Spar also does the best crab around at the best prices. There's a lot of additional space beyond the CL so I would expect interest from rally organisers in the future.

Spacious site, fully serviced pitch, great location just outside Blakeney with access to all that offers. Owner is very helpful. One of the best sites we stay on.

Great site with easy access in a fantastic location

Although open next to the road the CL is large, spacious, flat and very tranquil. Easy access into Blakeney, surrounding areas and the nature reserve for walking along with lots of lovely eateries should you wish to partake in the fantastic local produce. A really beautiful area and we will definately be back to stay and explore some more.

Fast becoming our favourite site

The site is local to us but a great escape all the same. There are walks directly from the site and plenty of places to eat and drink close by. It is a dog free site, which is a big plus for us but can be hard to find. And although not a child free site (which we prefer) when we have stayed there has been no children, which in our experience definitely helps us feel like we’re on holiday! To be honest we were in two minds about posting a review as we worry if it gets too popular we’ll never get a pitch, but as we rely on reviews to inform our site choices it’s only fair we spread the word, as it’s a great site with large pitches. There is a little road noise in the day but it’s very limited and extremely quiet from early evening, when occasionally planes can fly low overhead for short periods of time, but the same goes for across Norfolk, and they can be thrilling to watch for the few seconds they are visible!

Peaceful site near North Norfolk path

We've just returned from a few days on this super site. Only our second trip out and really relaxed on this peaceful site. Well spaced pitches on a regularly mown field with views of Blakeney Church and the more distant sea. Short walk to Blakeney harbour, with it's fresh fish shop, pub and other supplies and access to the North Norfolk path. Stunning walks from the gate and close to the bus stop. We took a coastal bus to Wells, Burnham Market, and Morston where we sampled more excellent local food.

Great site - just what we wanted

Situated just outside Blakeney with very easy access. 5 pitches very spaced out with easy access to water and electricity. No dogs, very clean and well set out. You can tl Serena and James have done this before. Nearby there are plenty of good walks and of cycling. Holkham Bay and Holkham Hall were both excellent, and a nice day out on the bikes! Plenty of birds watching to be done and in our few days we had marsh harriers, curlews, spoonbills and avocets. Very quiet location and very little road noise - those skylarks made much more noise in the mornings :-)

Great site in a wonderful area

We've recently returned from an extended stay at Villeroche and can't recommend it too highly. It's easily accessible from the main King's Lynn to Cromer road and is a good size field with plenty of space between pitches each of which has electric, water & drainage points. Despite a biblical amount of rain before our arrival, the grass drained incredibly well so was relatively dry - also helped by the grass being kept short. Received a warm welcome from Serena with a subsequent follow up from James to check that all was OK - that's a nice touch. The site is within easy walking distance of Blakeney which has a couple of pubs & restaurants, convenience store and fresh fish shop. The main car park at the Quay is run by the National Trust and so is free to members - it also has a couple of food kiosks, one of which does an excellent breakfast bap while the other has wonderful fresh crab sandwiches and other seafood - both recommended! This was our first visit to North Norfolk and we really enjoyed the whole area - Holt is a wonderful little town which seems to sell pretty much everything and Burnham Market is another attractive village with a load of interesting shops, including Gurney's seafood which sold us a sizeable and delicious local crab! This is an area that we'll return to at some point and Villeroche will be our obvious choice of CL! Many thanks, Serena & James.
