Ease of arrival/welcome

Easy access, friendly welcome

We stayed here for a week in Sept 2014. We found it easy to find and access was good (look for the signs for The Eggcup Tearooms off the Bridport to Abbotsbury road). A sign requests that you contact the tearoom before pitching. We got a friendly welcome from the staff. The site slopes gently and leveling ramps are required. The grass is long on unused half of the site, and a bit shorter where the pitches are. We pitched near the bottom and my 2WD car struggled to pull the van back up on the wet grass when we were leaving. Had the grass been shorter, we would have left muddy tracks, so I was glad the grass was not too short! There are 6 hook ups and 2 water taps, recycling facilities and a chemical toilet point. The views are excellent, as you would expect in this area. Road noise can be heard, but is not obtrusive. It's not advisable to walk along the main road to the nearest pub, The Bull (which isn't open all day), but a footpath at the back of the site takes you to Swyre, and we walked to the Crown at Punknowle which is open all day and does good food. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
