Good stop

Stayed over May bank holiday, very pleasant stop. Good pub nearby, lots of dog walking routes and cycling options. Water and waste facilities could do with smartening up for motorhome use but all there and work. Levellers needed, but lovely neat well drained pitch area, it is quite high up so can get a bit of wind. Good mobile reception, Wi-Fi is available but we found it a bit variable and used mobile in the end. Would definitely stay again, really very pleasant

Love this site!

We have stayed here a few times and love it. The owners are friendly, pitches are well kept and the toilet is spotless. Lots to do in the area. We enjoy having the chickens around and love watching the horses. Good pub within easy walking distance. Will definitely go back!

So Peaceful

This was our 4th stay on this site in the last 6 yrs. The whole stay is so peaceful with chickens for company. They are always after a freebie but never a nuisance. The owners greet you and say goodbye and leave you to your self There is an extensive array of information leaflets inside the toilet/washroom. The grass is in good condition and there is no extensive list of site rules to cope with. Several N.T properties are within easy reach. We will be back.

Peaceful Spot

This was our first time at a CL and enjoyed a lovely, relaxing two nights. Owners welcoming and helpful, site level and well maintained. Easy access to Bewl Water across the footpaths (about 1 mile away) if you like to walk. Bonus of baby chicks which entertained our daughter! Lovely, will return.

What a lovely spot to spend a week

I have to agree with previous reviewers. We have just returned from a week at this beautiful spot. You couldn't fault it. The site is level, well looked after, spacious and private. Its easy enough to find but do look out for the CL sign attached to a pole on the left hand side of the road just after Cousley Wood Farm (which is on your right). Turn right 50m past this, into Newbury Lane and follow the narrow lane for about 300m. the site is on your left.  Plenty to visit locally. Get value from your National Trust membership. We didn't eat out .... it was too nice so we just bbq every night.  The owner and his wife were really helpful. If we don't come back its not because the site lacked anything. I'd recommend this place to anyone who fancies a quiet week with their caravan.

An East Sussex gem

We spent nearly 2 weeks on this idyllic site in late June and early July.  Spacious, well kept site with the bonus of on-site toilets.  The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming.  Site entrance is a little tricky and there is a better route in than that printed in the brochure if you are approaching from the A21 just south of Lamberhurst.  Good walking area, buses available and coast within easy reach.  We will be back.

Wonderful and Peaceful CL

We have just returned from a long weekend at Waghorns and enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing break. Great location for walks from the site so we didn't need to use the car. We highly recommend this site and will return again soon.

Excellent Quiet CL

My wife & I have just returned from staying at this CL for 5 nights (March 2014). It is wonderfully peaceful & a great location for walks from the site (Bewel Country Park) & for visiting National Trust properties in the area (Scotney Castle 2mls). The owner (Martin) & his wife are very friendly & helpful if needed. The site slopes very slightly so was very dry with short grass. The two toilets & facilities are very good & kept very clean. If approaching the site from Lamberhurst (A21) you are best to turn right 400yds before the Old Vine pub in the directions as this is a straight road & not quite so narrow. There is a sign to the CL 50yds before the road so approach vigilantly as we missed it! We thoroughly recommend this CL & shall be returning in the near future.
