Surrounded by nature

This is a lovely peaceful site surrounded by farmland on the edge of a small village. Access is down a short stretch of narrow lane but hardly saw any traffic on it during our time on site. The field to pitch in was easy to find with obvious signs. There was hard standing so no worries about getting stuck after the recent wet weather. The information hut included OS maps of the local area available to borrow as well as leaflets about local attractions. The service point was easy to use with good recycling facilities. Throughout our stay there was plenty of wildlife to watch including a hare and squirrels. The birdsong was lovely to listen to, and about the only sound apart from a few cows mooing. A short drive away are Montacute House and Ham Hill which are lovely areas for walking, both with great views across the Somerset countryside. Yeovil is only a short distance away with supermarkets etc. Nice friendly owner. A site we would love to return to. Thanks for a beautiful site.

A beautiful lawned site.

Thank you for our short stay 19th to 21st April. This site comprises a beautiful lawn with picnic benches and has easy access from a village Lane. There are 2 drinking water points, and a fenced off waste disposal point with chemical loo disposal and recycling bins. Lovely views West to the Blackdown Hills and there are nearby footpaths on high ground above the village. A woodland dog walk is just 100yds down the Lane. We walked the 3 miles, or so, to Montacute House (NT) using good tracks and very quiet lanes. Currently there is building work ongoing across the road from the entrance, but we didn’t find this intrusive, and in normal times this site would be a rural idyll.

Peaceful and Tranquil!

We absolutely love this site and is in our list of regular must stops. The owners are lovely people who gave us a warm welcome on arrival. The site has an area for 3 hardstandings and is also plentiful for grass pitching. Sue and Andy keep the grass regularly cut so wildlife is easy to see. In our time there we have seen badgers, foxes, rabbits and squirrels amongst a whole host of bird life. There is an information hut near to the w.c area where the bins are. We recommend this site to anyone and will be returning here regularly for well earned breaks in the future.

What a beautiful place!

This is by far the best CL that I have ever visited. A VERY large beautiful field to park in, with a few hard standings and a lovely view over Somerset. The skylarks swooped over the van in the evening and I heard owls in the night. I got a very warm welcome from the owners and felt greatly at ease. The site was peaceful, there was water, waste disposal and a small information hut. For me a great bonus was that I still had 4G and could plan my days out. There are a couple of wonderful dog walks at Ham Hill and St Michael's Hill, the latter proved a very good workout for myself and my dogs! This is one CL that I will certainly return to and encourage other members to visit. WONDERFUL Vanessa

Fantastic site

We had a lovely family stay here. The site is immaculately kept with loads of space and it is a great location to stay at. This was our first caravan trip and we had no trouble getting into and out of the site with a reasonably large caravan. The owners were very friendly and helpful including charging our battery and lending us a spare while doing so. Good dog walks on your doorstep. Very peaceful with nice views all around. We would highly recommend to anyone.

Lovely CL

Peace and quiet in a large mowed field with hardstanding areas if weather is bad. Excellent wifi an unexpected bonus. Very good value for money. Two slight negatives - this is hardly a 'waterside' site (there is an overgrown ditch that might contain water but you certainly cannot see any). Also the site instructions could be clearer as the GPS coordinates are of the farmhouse not the camping field - you should proceed down Weston St. until it bends sharply to the left. The campsite is then just around the corner on the right. Finally, give Yeovil a miss - very disappointing!

A lovely central rural place to stay.

6.5 mtr Motorhome with 2 persons.  What a lovely spot to stop at, the weather was warm and so was the welcome. The site is well kept, with plenty of room.  There was a little hut with lots of information, which was backed up with recommendations  from the owner, including two of his favourite walks that could be done from the site.  We will definitely return to explore more of that wonderful area.  Harry
