This site has amazing countryside views, in a great location. We were treated to regular sightings of the resident Barn Owl flying very close to the vans. However the facilities are not good enough. There is one combined loo/shower and although it states this is not exclusive we didn’t realise that it was used by the occupiers of the industrial units on the farm. The block is also cold with inadequate heating - the fan heater didn’t seem to be working. The grass had not been cut, meaning it was a walk through long grass to the wildlife pond and the grass around the site had also not been maintained. Sad to leave a negative review as the owners were very friendly and helpful.

Many thanks for your review and we are pleased that you found the CL owners helpful and the location superb. The CL owners have been in touch as they wish to address your concerns as they work hard to ensure people have the best possible time on their site. The toilet is shown as non-exclusive so they are sorry you were disappointed with this. They are transparent about the situation and the toilet is actually only shared with a handful of users on the few units they have. These units are rented out mainly to part-time hobbyists and car tinkerers. They are a very friendly bunch and often help guests on the site by offering advice of things to do and where to go in the local area. They don’t use the shower, just the toilets, and this is mostly only during the day, from 9am to 5pm. The CL owners have checked the fan heater and it is still fully operational. There is a pull switch to turn it on and off and a knob for the heat setting. During your stay unfortunately, the CL owner’s ride-on mower had broken down (a drive belt snapped) and they had difficulty getting a correct spare part as it is quite old. The mower was out of action for just over a week, but at that time of year the grass shoots up very quickly. Consequently, over a period of 10 days the site and the path to the pool became a little overgrown. The matter has now been rectified and please be assured this is not the norm on this CL Site.
