Perfect spot to explore Bourton-on-the-Water

Lovely quiet spot next to the pretty village of Clapton-on-the-Hill, with an easy 3.5km walk across the field, gently downhill to Bourton-on-the-Water. Perfect for leavng the campervan/motorhome and walking down to enjoy the facilities in Bourton, which include excellent tea rooms, pubs, a model village, a bird park, a maze, many lovely shops and some exquisite views. The lane outside the site leading down to Clapton has nice wide verges, giving you plenty of space to walk dogs safely. The surrounding network of footpaths looks excellent. We used the AllTrails "Clapton on the Hill Circular" to visit and return from Bourton. It was a lovely route. Visiting in February the verges and villages were filled with snowdrops and crocuses, with daffodils firmly closed but promising to be glorious in a early March. 4G was good at the site (Vodafone and O2), much better than in the valley below. Miss Wood was very welcoming and absolutely lovely. The site was so level, that we didn't need any ramps. At £12 per night it is a wonderful site and great value.

Very Quiet and Peaceful Stopover

We used the site as a stop over en route to the M5 in July. Finding the site is fairly straightforward with just the last few miles on narrow roads with passing places, entrance fine. The field is level with plenty of room, one tap and cdp near bungalow. Field is surrounded by hedges but there are holes cut in the hedge for views over the fields. The site is just a couple of miles from Bourton on the Water and many other cotswold towns and villages are within easy reach. NT Sherborne is also only a couple of miles away. The site is wonderfully quiet and Peaceful. Neighbour next door sells honey, delicious would recommend. The owner is a lovely lady and we had a great chat. We will use this CL again.

Perfect CL site- hope to be back!

We stayed here for 1 night as part of a week long tour around the area. Well kept quiet, basic site which is our preference. Cycled down the hill to Bourton-on -the -Water, but walked back the main hill very steep! Not busy as only 2 other units there weekday in mid June. The CL is surrounded by high hedges which limits the view but provides some shade in warm weather.

Peace and Quiet

Having been sat in traffic for ages decided that we needed somewhere quiet to relax for the night. Rang Miss Wood to check availability no problem, 30 minutes later we were parked up in a lovely rural location. The field is nice and flat with plenty of room. £7 a night with water, toilet cassette emptying and bins. Nice walks along the nearby lanes for us and the dog. Only a couple of miles from Bourton on the Water and other lovely Cotswold Villages all quite close. We can recommend a stay here if you like peace and quiet.

Perfect

This is a lovely little site. High bush borders make the view limited from the field itself, but you don't spend your time in the field! This village (houses and a church) is ideally located for walks in any direction to larger towns and villages, which was the purpose of our visit. It's about an hours walk to Bourton on the Water, which can be hard going if it's been raining as it was last weekend. Heather was wonderfully attentive, and concerned we might have problems on the field in the wet she asked we park on her drive. This was perfect, a hardstand, our own private garden, and far enough from the house to not think we were on a drive at all. At just over 2hrs from our side of London, we will definitely be back! PS - as with most CL sites, the price is not correct on here. it's now £6pn which is still great value.

Absolute Fabulous

This is the nicest CL I think we have ever stayed on , it was quiet & peaceful beautifully kept & Heather the owner could not have been more helpful . There are some nice walks around the one down to the village which is a dead end & very pretty also no road noise , most of the Cotswolds are on your doorstep ideal for visiting them . Lovely fresh eggs as well Heather lets them out morning & night collects the eggs & if you are about will have a chat to you , but we think the nicest thing is the welcome you get it makes for a great holiday we stayed for 15 days which was not long enough but we will be back

Gem in the Cotswolds.

Great Cl right where you want it,in the centre if the cotswolds. Heather very welcoming, keeps the grass clipped + all areas tidy. Pitching both sides of hedges so plenty of room. Bourton 2mls down the road,Sherbourne NT Estate for long or short walks 2mils. Moreton Market on Tuesdays a must. All the other cotswolds towns + villages are within such easy reach of this site. We love it + visit regular. Always plenty going on in the area. Heathers Free range eggs are great too. Can highly recommend pitching here.
