Lovely quiet site
A great site with glorious views over surrounding countryside and fantastic views of the sunset while we were there. Our fridge broke down when we arrived on site, but Martin and Terri very kindly lent us a fridge to plug into the motorhome, which we really appreciated as it was a very hot week!
The pitches are almost level and very quiet and peaceful. There is an easy walk on a bridleway and then beside the road to Sturminster Newton, where there are pubs and cafes as well as various shops including a newsagent, chemist, small supermarket, etc. We went to Bank House restaurant and had a very nice meal. Great service and friendly owners and staff.
Road cycling is good on mostly quiet lanes (although slightly hilly) and the North Dorset Trailway runs from Sturminster Newton through Blandford Forum to Spetisbury.
There are plenty of footpaths which are generally well-signposted, including the Hardy Way about 1km from the site.
