Beautiful site

Stayed here 2 nights April 2019, the last few miles are narrow roads however they are not busy and plenty of passing places, it’s a working farm so expect noise and odour associated with a farm, the views are truly stunning, loads of walks in the area, the owners are very friendly and on hand with area advise if needed. For £10 a night with electric I wish all CL’s were this price. The site is on a hill so levelling blocks are advised, we were in a medium sized motorhome and needed a tow from a extremely kind caravan owner to exit the site, many thanks to him if he is reading this. I’m sure this wouldn’t be an issue in the warmer months, overall a lovely site at a great price.

Hidden Gem

We found this wee gem of a site last year and we spent a further few days there this year, the views are outstanding, the welcome just as good, if you want peace and quiet then this is the place. As mentioned in other reviews access isn't the greatest, but not a problem if you follow The directions/instruction in the sites handbook (beware potholes in the lane) and drive slowly. Handy for the lakes and Dales plenty of local shops also milk n cheese on sale at the farm - enjoy a great break at this lovely site.

Fabulous view

After getting lost, Ron kindly guided us to the site and gave us a choice of pitches.  We had a fabulous and relaxing weekend and will return soon.

Totally Fantastic

What a fantastic site this is. Outstanding views across a stunning valley, lovely and peaceful and quiet. Idyllic in every way. The access road is narrow for 1.5 miles but there are plenty of passing places so this is no issue at all. Ron the site manager and his wife keep a friendly but low profile presence --they are very helpful but not at all intrusive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is the one for a View, Walking Peace & Quiet

Friendly helpful greeting again from Ron (Site Manager). Having visited for a weekend returned this time for 10 nights and what a quiet relaxing break. Walking in all directions direct from site.  I have posted a short video of the site on YouTube headed Whin Yeats 5CL.

A Great Site - Highly Recommended

We are in our fourth year of touring and this weekend we pitched for the 179th time on a site we had never been to before. Less than 15 miles from home and we were amazed! The views are breathaking, the warmth of the welcome fantastic, the facilities just as we needed. Complete peace and quiet, star lit skies and easy acess to footpaths to walk the dog! We just can't believe we have not found this site sooner and we certainly will be back again very soon. Thanks to Ron for his warm welcome. The only word of caution is the lanes to access the site are narrow but no gain without a bit of pain!

Outstanding

This CL has the most wonderful views over Ingleborough and the surrounding hills but is still fairly sheltered. The access road is not a problem as long as you follow the directions! It is also a very convenient location as it's not far from the Lakes or the Dales and about 4 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. There are numerous walks from the site. It is on a working farm, but there was no problem with noise. Definitely one we will return to!

A hidden gem

The approach road is single track with passing places and at one stretch is 1 in 7, but having said that it is a very minor road and I've never encounted a problem. The site is small and part sloping, it is sheltered from the west being on the eastern side of Holme Fell, with some of the best views of any CL site we have stayed on. You look out over the West Pennines with the town of Kirby Lonsdale to the south behind which towers Ingleborough Hill north of that is Wernside and Craghill. For the walkers amongst you direct access from the site to Holme Park Fell which on it's western side gives uninterupted views of Morecombe Bay, from Blackpool to the south up to the Lakeland fells in the north. The area is stunningly beautiful, and well worth a visit, one word of warning it is a working farm and some noise can be expected, also being situated on a hill access to the toilet can be a bit of a trudge if you cannot manage steps. There are lots of pubs serving food in the surrounding villages but none within walking distance, the nearest village with a pub is Burton in Kendal five minutes by car, and numorous pubs and cafes in Kirby Lonsdale fifeteen minutes away.
